and the Mancs are NOT going to be amongst the top seeds.

As far as I'm aware all of the below

1 AC Milan

2 Chelsea

3 Liverpool

4 FC Barcelona

5 Olympique Lyon

6 Arsenal

7 Internazionale

9 Real Madrid

have qualified so the Mancs are in the second group of teams. That should make things a bit harder for them. Potentially Sevilla could oust Real Madrid so the Mancs are looking at

Milan, Barca, Lyon, Inter and Real/Sevilla in their group. None of those are easy.

Yes I`m sure, this team does not have many goals in it.

So if they have a gash season in Europe this year, then they could be in the second seeds next season?

They would, of course, still manage to get the easiest group.

Can't believe the chavs are seeded above us. I am pretty sure we would be second seeds and Barca would be third.

is it because they love a centre forward?

It's not just centre forwards that the Newcastle fans love, don't forget, they love goals and entertaining football.

The radio said last night that all 4 English clubs are top seeds

They were also unsure what the f*** they are going to do about this Seville thing

get big wedge on Arsenal tonight then, if they're already through

And getting their moobs out

they aren't

ay, Woodsyla ballsed it up and posted the wrong list. For United to drop out of the top 8 seeds for next years competition is very probable.

They'd need to get to at least the 1/4's this season, and hope the teams around them don't do well. Their 02/03 score is pretty good, 26, and that won't be counted next season as 03/04 will be the earliest. so if they get say 23 this year for losing in the 1/4's, their 5 scores adding up their rank will be 15+17+12+27+23 = 94, the current 8th place (which actually is United) are on 99, so you can see they'd probably be knocked out the top 8. Probably by someone like Lyon, who's 02/03 score is only 10 and will not be counted next year, so should they do better than the group stages this year, will easily get above 100.

I think Chelsea are assured of top 8 for the next 2 years because of their 3 semi finals. They got pretty much no points in 02/03 which affects their rank this year but next year this won't be counted anymore and they'll shoot up to 2nd/3rd probably above us if they reach the 1/4's. We're also assured of top 8 for a few years unless we do terrible this year, I.E lose all 6 group games, then we'll start to look edgy

real madrid need a good run too, or they will drop out. Shame about Juve, as that would have dropped the wancs to 2nd seeds.

We all know that FM is real, right? Well I tried an experiment. I changed the seeding, so that the mancs were seeded 4th. Didn't matter how many times I did it, they always got an easy draw. Some things are just TOO real...

BTW, being second seed doesn't really matter to be honest, because the 3rd and 4th teams are usually gash anyway.

How will Sevilla and AEK not playing affect this? Could Sevilla be a third seed and AEK a fourth or are both the same?

It'll affect the issue of clubs not playing clus from the same league and home/away dates as well. I'm sure they'll think of some right complicated way to figure it out.

Well there are 3 Spanish teams and 1 other Greek team, so there is good chance they could get drawn in the same group. Sevilla would be drawn out of the second pot as they have a rating of 87 whereas AEK would be from the fourth as they only have a rating of 36. I can't see any way of conducting it without doing two completely separate draws

Yeah they could easily have one draw 'incase Seville win' and one draw 'incase AEK win', but Seville will win anyway, so only the first will matter.

Don't think UEFA will do that, It's not complicated enough.

** Due to the death of Antonio Puerta, the second leg of Sevilla's game against AEK Athens has been postponed until Monday, 3 September. Due to the seeding criteria, Both teams will use the higher coefficients between two teams when the draw is held

That would be a clear unfair advantage to AEK in my book? Because their game was postponed, they move up 2 pots from pot 4 to pot 2 and thus avoid drawing the likes of Valencia and Lyon as they're in the same pot and instead being able to play weaker teams like Beşiktaş and Slavia Prague as they're no longer in their pot. Unless i've misinterpreted this, it means should AEK beat Seville (albeit unlikely they're 2-0 down, but you don't know what effect Puerta's death could have had) they'll have a much greater chance of qualifying for the last 16. This seems a strange way of doing it.
