  1. He was a great keeper. So reliable. Alec Lindsay told me how Clem would come out with his knees up and his elbows out and opponents and defenders kept out of the way otherwise they'd get clobbered. He was very agile and assured which made him a better keeper than Bruce. He's the best Liverpool keeper I've seen though Alison is almost as good. Always a bit of a mystery as to why he left.
  2. I thought that Jules Rimet trophy was nicked. Surely not, Bob......
  3. I have to agree. I'm not his biggest fan but thought he gave it a decent go last night. The problem is that he is always isolated. Sterling drops too deep in order to get the ball and Coutinho is already playing deep, so Mario is left upfront by himself. He needs a player alongside him, hopefully Sturridge when he's back.
  4. Bill Shankly is the subject in BBC radio four's Great Lives, Tuesday at 4.30pm and on Saturday at 11.00pm. Shankly is chosen by Liverpool fan and mumsnet creator Justine Roberts along with Shankly biographer Stephen F Kelly. Will also be on iplay if you miss it.

    Shooting

Have you ever noticed that at the end of the warm up session before a game they always end with a shoot-in - and they are diabolical. Just count the number of times they miss. It's staggering. They actually score at a rate of less than one in two. Next time you're there just count. They've been like that for a few years. In fact a fair few aren't even on target. Now you would think that a rolling ball played to them not far from the penalty spot and with no one near them would at least hit the target 9 times out of 10 and even hit the back of the net 7 times out of ten. But no. And therein lies a problem.
  6. Pardew says he wants Carroll back at Newcastle. Is something going on here ? Is he preparing the ground for a Carroll return, maybe in exchange for Ba plus money ? Interesting.

    Raheem Sterling

He was so involved from the word go yesterday until the very end. What really impresses me is his strength. He gets knocked down, he gets up, he gets knocked off the ball, he wins it back. And the lad is so young. I've been going to Anfield for 50 years and I think he is one of the brightest prospects I have ever seen. He has a massive future ahead of him. My only worry is that the likes of Chelsea, United and City will soon realise this and start turning his head with the promise of mega-bucks. We may struggle to hold on to him. But what a player he is going to be.
  8. Just no contest. quote name='Cunny' timestamp='1349256658' post='3290261'] close the thread
  9. RSA just posted this on their Facebook site in relation to my asking why they hadn't given documents to Inquiry. I find it confusing. RSA Insurance Group wrote: "Stephen, the Panel's Terms of Reference related to the disclosure of documents held by public bodies and did not apply to any of the private bodies involved. However, we willingly co-operated with the Panel, disclosing all relevant materials in our possession. Jon"
  10. We need to hammer them with emails. They have a Facebook site so go on there and start demanding answers. Let them know we are after them. RSA is the second-largest general insurer in the United Kingdom. Its global headquarters are in the City of London on Fenchurch Street and the headquarters of its UK operations are on Leadenhall Street. Its registered office is in St Mark's Court, Horsham. Other key UK offices are located in Liverpool, Bristol, Manchester, Chelmsford, Glasgow, Cardiff, Sunderland, Belfast, Peterborough, Halifax, Croydon, Stirling and Birmingham.

    Hillsborough

Yeah, same here. Been an emotionally exhausting day. Strange how it still affects you so deeply after 23 years. I remember the day so well. Was just listening to Peter Jones' commentary from the day on radio5 - so moving and such a wonderful broadcaster. Going to have another glass of wine and an early night.
  12. It was all very moving. I started watching but it brought back too many painful memories and I had to switch off. I was in tears. How amazing all those families have been and how they've fought. It must have been so painful to them. And well done to all LIverpool fans who never let go. Let's hope that action can now be taken.
  13. I'd love to know what language all this took place in. Was it in English ? If so, does Suarez speak good English and if he does, is he fully conversant with slang racist words. In fact I'd be interested to know how good Evra's English is. Was it in Spanish ? If so, does Evra speak Spanish. Was it in French, if so does Suarez speak French. Interesting that he spoke about it to a French TV station. Also that with this kind of slur nobody is ever going to be able to prove or disprove it. But of course mud sticks.
  14. Aha, so now I know that the Invisible Man is my son. I am indeed the father of the Invisible Man, aka Mr S and aka Stephen F. Kelly. But sad for most of you I am representing the over sixties. I guess there ain't too many over sixties on here. But if you are I'd be delighted to take up any issues you might have. I'm not sure how the committee is going to work out but if anyone has things they want to raise I'll see what I can do. Apparently the club will be setting up pages for each of us so you can always contact me or the most appropriate representative on the LFC website. But I will keep you posted. And thanks for the congrats.
