I have read elsewhere that the tribunal has found 2-1 in favour of Sheffield United. The PL have asked for an adjournment while they decide what to do.

I have heard = rumour. No solid facts or links.

You heard it here first, though.....

It'll never be allowed by the PL because of the fixtures already being out. West Ham would appeal anyway, and it could turn into a right mess if it's not sorted by the start of August. The only way Sheff United will be in the PL next season IMO is as the 21st club - I.E unlikely.

Apparently the WHU and Sheff UTD home and away games are on exactly the same days.

Like it.

There used to be a quote from one of old players - Can't remember who ... who said when West Ham drew with us to stay up in the seventies, Liverpool were pleased coz it wasa guaranteed 4 points (as it was then) the next season.

Might have been Tommy Smith.

If Sheff U replace them then with Robbo in charge it's a definite 6 points (for everyone though...), but better still is the thought of all that filthy lucre having to play against the likes of Bristol City and Sc***horpe.

Very interesting. They'd be fools to keep the hammers up now though.

Not really. Th FA is an association that the clubs sign up to and agree to abide by their findings and rules. Sheff U have not a hope in hell IMO

Why should WHU have the right of appeal? They admitted it?

Won't happen though, these things never do.

Could they deduct points from the Hammers for next season and give Sheffield more cash, IE 20th place money for 2007-2008 as compensation?

I honestly reckon we'll get 21 teams in the Premiership next season

Think it is too late for that, what with the fixtures being out and everything?

west ham and sheff u should have a playoff at wembley to decide the outcome

sky would love it, it would be like judgment night 1355673

Funny if Tevez played... would they appeal?

It'll be messy if they do it, but I think it's a real possibility.

They'd have to redo the entire list, each team would have a week off with two extra fixtures jammed in.

Won't happen.

It's clear that the decision will stand, as bad a decision as it was they are under no compulsion to change their mind

Massively increased parachute payments for Sheffield United would be my guess.

which is pretty much an admission of guilt by the league isn't it?

Yes. Can't see how they can avoid that now though. Any attempts to have a 21 team league will be blocked by the rest of the clubs and any attempt at swapping Sheffield Utd and West Ham's places would just result in a counter appeal by West Ham.

Which would surely open them up to another claim from SU saying if you can give us the money, you HAVE to reinstate us.

I can't see West Ham's grounds for a counter appeal though. But their recent spending would suggest they're confident of staying up.

So who do they the suits want in the prem: another bunch of London boys with a wealthy owner ( easy backhanders ) or a bunch of Northern boys who are broke and with a virgin manager.

No way on this earth are west ham going to suffer.
