1. He wasn't much kop last night. I'd bench him for a couple of weeks.

2. That booking at the end was quality. He may as well have held up a sign saying "Book me!".

He must be under instructions to drop deep, but I'm worried we're sacrificing his goal threat. Last night, there was really no need for him to be so deep.

He was garbage. Luckily for him we spent big on him last summer so I'm sure his place is safe for another year. I'm starting to think that what we see is what you get. A very hard working old school 12 goal a season forward. Kevin Nolan in fact.

He's really faded in the 2nd half of the season. I'd say give Bellamy and Crouch a run together.

It can't be fatigue cos he has been rested a fair bit. Could it be a confidence thing ?

I'm pretty sure Rafa instructed him to get the booking, watching on TV they showed Rafa shouting at Dirk (could have been anything, but there didn't appear to be any positional gestures). Almost immediately afterwards Dirk jumped into one of the PSV defenders without going for the ball or to injure the player, I tihnk he expected a booking, when he didn't get the booking he stayed in front of the ball until he was booked.

He wasn't massively involved, directly last night but his runs made loads of space in front of their back 4 - i wish he'd score more but current tactics dictate otherwise.

I'm glad he's our player - works harder than any other centre forward in the league.

I think he's fortunate that, possibly apart from Gerrard, there is no-one else available to play that role off the main striker which Rafa clearly puts great store by.

If Kewell could ever get himself fit then Kuyt might find himself on the sidelines as his form has been pretty mediocre for a while now.

Not really too worried about his performances. He does a great job for the team working the channels and tracking back.

I really like Kuyt, but he looks a bit tired at the moment so I'd like to see Bellamy and Crouchie in his current form together for a few games.

Whenever those two have played they've linked well and scored goals, but it's mostly been in a three man forward line at the likes of Watford. I don't think they've played together as a two much but on paper it really should be a very good partnership.

tbh, that's a terrible indictment of his performances as a striker when that is what he gets praise for.

I don't really mind that much if the team is winning. Rafa gives him a job. If he picks him then it's inferring that Rafa knows he will do the job he is asked. We won the game. We scored three good goals and controlled it. Job done.

Derek's form the last couple months has been dissapointing. But I'm not overly worried, cos we've seen how he can play. Hopefully he'll pick it up again soon. He has come from an inferior league, which cant have been half as taxing as playing in the Prem, maybe it's just a case of getting used to so many things quickly.

And the booking was

he also heard stevie's call and didnt go for the header, which I thought was good play

aye, it was good how he ducked. Imagine if Stevie had shouted 'crouch' as he came running in, that would have confused him

Dirk did the job that was asked of him. Can't ask for more than that and partly as a result we won 0-3. See no reason for complaint. PSV were looking for him - he made the space for others to exploit.

Looks absolutely knackered at the moment. Could do with a rest.

That's probably true - it's been a big step up this year.

You gotta stick a name on it otherwise it's technically a foul which I found out much to my shock in a game.
