Knox_Harrington Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 More backheels required then? Some stepovers? Some MEGS?
Earl Hafler Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 More backheels required then? Some stepovers? Some MEGS? I hate the way he doesn't support the attacks and leaves Gerrard isolated. Not getting any better either.

Whitey Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I hate the way he doesn't support the attacks and leaves Gerrard isolated. Not getting any better either. The lad looks a good back up to Arbeloa
Spike Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 he runs over old men according to Ostrich Man, but enough about Giggs man marking a few weeks back...
stressederic Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Wasn't long ago people on here whNTED HIM OUT. They did?
dorgie Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 After Saturday & tonight, we now possess the best & the 2nd best right backs in the league
Hassony Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Wasn't long ago people on here whNTED HIM OUT.I remember someone saying Kromkamp will offer him competition and might make him a better player, but i can't recall anyone saying finnan should be sold or replaced
Romario Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I remember someone saying Kromkamp will offer him competition and might make him a better player, but i can't recall anyone saying finnan should be sold or replacedHis second season people wanted rid.
Hassony Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 to be fair he didn't have a great first season, and he was on the verge of leaving when rafa took over, but he has excelled under rafa
dorgie Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Note that this is from just last October........ http://www.ynwa.tv/forum/index.php?showtop...6&hl=finnan Steve Finnan, Not up to scratch UnclebobPost #1 Group: MembersJoined: 16-April 06Member No.: 6,397 Does anyone else share my opinion? I think Finnan is way below the standard required. His crossing and general distribution are woeful, he struggles in the air and is caught out of position frequently. Befroe people start telling me that form is temporary and class is pemanent this lad never had any class. He flattered to decieve last term and it worries me that we have no cover for his position. Between him and Pennant, Liverpool's right flank is as poor as it has been for many years.
Elisha_Scott Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 to be fair he didn't have a great first season, and he was on the verge of leaving when rafa took over, but he has excelled under rafa When Rafa took over, Finnan was being touted around for 2 million. Spurs wanted him but wouldn't pay the asking price believe it or not. The money was going to buy Joey Barton.

The money was going to buy Joey Barton. That was the first time I thought Rafa was wrong to be honest. He was willing to let him go without really getting to know him. Luckily for everyone Finnan turned it around. Joey Barton....Whew.
Leo No.8 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Note that this is from just last October........ http://www.ynwa.tv/forum/index.php?showtop...6&hl=finnan To be fair Unclebob was rightly ridiculed into oblivion after starting that thread by most of us, and hasn't been seen since. Democracy works, and Finnan is one of the best right-backs in Europe...

Democracy works, and Finnan is one of the best right-backs in Europe...So without causing hassle what was Rafa's gripe? At the time I was amazed!
chrisbonnie Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 ill openly admit, after his first season, i thought he was crap, there was talk of him going to Everton anyway, he played for Ireland against Croati on the wednesday, the following day i flew to Liverpool for the weekend and to watch our first game of the season under Rafa, he was on the same flight, and i DIDNT get his autograph, as i thought he was s*** im still kicking myself
Cheesecake Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 he was highly rated based on his performances for Fulham the season before, got in the premiership team of the seaso if I recall correctly - it could have been the settling in period at Liverpool, who knows. Glad someone, whether Rafa or others reluctance to pay the fee left him here. Either way he's doing alright now.
Guest Ant Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Steve Finnan is absolutely f***ing incredibly sensationally, unbelieveably, Grade A Material... This guy has played in every division, played in every competition, World Cup included... Got 2 Medals to his name 4 Medals to his name including the European cup...With us and I for one cannot think of a right back around Europe who can say that...

Paul_LFC Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Finnan is a Rafa type player. He's a machine. Does he job effectively with no fuss. Team man. He should be on some of our set pieces, he can some great balls in, as you saw tonight.
