Steve Finnan has been the best right-back in the league for a few years now.

Neville does an equally steady job defensively for United and has been more involved going forward this season than previously, but Finnan is a more technically gifted footballer on top of the defensive capability.

And before the Mancs start objecting, his assists give the factual evidence to support this - Finnan had 5 times as many as Neville in the past two seasons and including up to just before Christmas this season.

Despite this, I'll bet anyone £20 that Neville will be in the Premier League team of the year, f*cking Dot Cotton lookalike little tw*t...

Sign Barry sell Gerrard!!

Sell Reina buy Hahnemann!!

Why did we ever let Diouf go as he's far better than any of our midfielders/attackers?

Admitedly tho Drogba and Ronaldo have been the best 2 players this season.

*ehem* The list above is for the Premiership, not Europe.

*ahem* i know.

thats what he was being called after the barcelona match on here.

If by Europe, you mean the known Universe then I assume you´re referring to Jamie Carragher.

well if you cant figure out who i mean by doing the sums ;)

I dislike these stats immensely.

Finnan is the best right back in theleague and barring Zambrotta the best right back in Europe.

I'd go with that.

Alves has to be up there with them but somehow I just can't bring myself to describe what he does as playing right-back...

OM - just as a matter of interest, what do you think of Ferdinand?

Have found quite a divergence of opinion about Mancs in general on him.

hes alright....vidic beside him is doing him the world of good...still has sever lapses of concentration.

Which was a...........European game!

right so if someone says hes the best in europe theyre actually discounting games not played "in europe" ??

so hes the best in europe, but really average in england?

I'll say this slowly as you're a Manc.......Carra is the best defender in European competition this season, whilst having a poor start to the Premiership season, which is why he's below Ferdinand.

It's a fatuous statistical mess. Tells no-one anything about the relative standard of footballers.

My dad used to play snooker with Bill Werbeniuk. Werbeniuk was the 6th best player in the club...but the 4th in the world rankings.

And Carra is the best defender in the league. Finnan is the best right back. And Ferdinand is going to do a " Morrow " one of these days - he'll jump on a team mates back and get thrown up in the air, breaking his collarbone.

That day will become a bank holiday.
