anny road Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 at times that season Owen and especially Heskey (mid season) were unplayable
psl Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Owen's run culminating in his form at the end of the season was incredible.
McBain Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 God that Michael Owen was rubbish Jumps out like a 3D jaws does that Amazing how succesful we've been under Rafa considering no striker has topped 15 goals yet
anny road Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Jumps out like a 3D jaws does that Amazing how succesful we've been under Rafa considering no striker has topped 15 goals yet imagine if we had a striker to do that under Rafa (which I think we have now in Kuyt) What happened to FSP? they aint out till March
Edvard Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 I know Djibs wasn't a favourite, but surely 19 tops 15?
McBain Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 I know Djibs wasn't a favourite, but surely 19 tops 15? He was a midfielder though in terms of his position on the pitch. More so than a striker anyway
Edvard Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 He was a midfielder though in terms of his position on the pitch. More so than a striker anyway Whilst i agree he probably played more on the right, surely the mojority of his goals were scored when he was actually being used as a striker?
Alonso Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Good to see Crouch already equal last season's tally with probably less playing time and more frequent rotation.
Logic Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Jumps out like a 3D jaws does that Amazing how succesful we've been under Rafa considering no striker has topped 15 goals yetThat right-winger we had called Cisse did pretty good though.
Kahnee Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 at times that season Owen and especially Heskey (mid season) were unplayable Owen's been unplayable this season too
johngibo YPC Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 at times that season Owen and especially Heskey (mid season) were unplayable I remember Ipswich saying they were made up Heskey was rested against them. We played Owen and Fowler up front. Shows how good he was then
surf Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Owen's been unplayable this season too i'd still have him back though
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 God that Michael Owen was rubbishnever scored 20 league goals in a season blah blah blah
Guest Scot Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 never scored 20 league goals in a season blah blah blah Good player. Good ex-player. Wish to f*ck we'd stop talking about him.
Cheesecake Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 think we saw the best of him tbh.Cant see him recapturing the form he had 5 years ago... anyway, onwards onwards onwards...
R A Softlad Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 God that treble season was good. No we were a defensive counter attacking team... kyfs!
Cooger Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Critics have constantly questioned Owen throughout his career. Saying he was one-footed, not a natural scorer, injury-prone with hamstrings, now he is injury prone again. He constantly silences them all by scoring goals. I think he will again.
R A Softlad Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 I hope for his sake he does but I fear he won't. The way GH's team treated Owen was with kid gloves and high end medical support - I don't think Newcastle have a clue. The weather up there gets colder quicker too and I think that was what caused his initial injury when he first arrived at St. James'.

He's injury-prone because he has been injured for, um well, long periods of time? I remember that Leeds game where it all started...
