Badly needs a goal.

Worked hard again yesterday and almost scored but looks short on confidence to me. If he comes good with Bellamy playing the way he is we'll be a very good side.

definitely needs a goal. he looks frustrated when he's not scoring, which isn't in itself a bad thing. he's still working hard and contributing though.

Beginning to get very selfish.

I don't agree with that. I think he needs to do exactly what he's doing, apart from spooning that good chance over the bar :D . I think he and Bellamy will be a good partnership up front

I agree with this. But Kuyt should have played the ball to Garcia instead of going for own glory. Being selfish is a good thing for a striker, but when a team desperately needs a goal, the striker needs to realise that.

Kuyt needs a goal = yes

Kuyt needs to stop working so hard outside the box = yes

He's just about the most unselfish player I've ever seen. Works like a trojan for the rest of the team.

Has missed one or two chances recently though so just needs one of those to go in to get his confidence back up again.

the problem for Dirk is that he lacks pace

the through ball second half yesterday that Xabi put through for him looked over hit,. but seeing it again if Bellamy was playing we would be 2-0 up

He plays a major part in almost every goal we score, while he's not scoring it's getting to the stage where he's as important to us as Xabi and Stevie.

by the way, according to an article in the Mirror, Kuyt has had some very good news about his dad :)

EXCLUSIVE: FLYING HIGH

By Bill Mills

DIRK KUYT will go flying into the New Year after being told his father is making a miraculous recovery from stomach cancer.

The Liverpool striker was told a few months ago that his father Dirk Snr might have only a few months to live.

Kuyt even wanted to stay in Holland and cancel his transfer to the Premiership. But his father told him to go and surgeons then decided to carry out a major operation on him.

Kuyt Snr said last night: "I had part of my stomach and my entire oesophagus removed.

"Doctors have now told me I may have a chance to survive the cancer.

"They said the operation was massively successful. On January 9 I will hear if I am clear."

Kuyt Snr says he has never seen his son happier than he is at Liverpool - and now the Holland striker will get another boost from his dad's amazing recovery.

Kuyt Jnr confirms he is so happy at Liverpool that he never wants to play for another European club.

He said: "If AC Milan or Real Madrid had offered me a big contract, I would have still preferred to go to Liverpool.

"This club suits me so much. I love the city, I love the club and I love the fans. For the last two or three years there were clubs from all over Europe knocking on the door. I was not interested in any of them.

"Every time I said I only wanted to move to one or two clubs in England."

Benitez, not sure why you didn't post the whole thing ;)

he's been working TOO hard for the team. Needs to concentrate on getting himself into good positions rather than being a 5th midfielder. I'm not worried about his scoring atm, it's not like we're really stuggling for goals

couldn't be arsed, I just nabbed a bit off RAWK, people can go read it on the site if they are desperate :D Although the bit at the end is more suitable for the bollix transfer rumour thread.

Beginning to get very selfish. Needs to look for other players in a better position.

Seems the opposite to me. Saw a couple of occasions where i wanted him to shoot, and he looked for the pass. If anything, Bellamy's the more selfish one, going for goal a couple of times, from very difficult angles, when there were options available in the middle.

well king kenny never had pace, and not to put too much pressure on dirk...but with every passing game he reminds me and more of kenny..

that little curler in the 2nd half which just went wide was pure dalglish.

no you misunderstood me...or maybe I didnt make myself clear......he suffers when he played up top yesterday......he needs a pacy player along side him

He works too much I think, and most of that work is not even near the box. He works so much, when it gets to the hour mark, he gets pretty tired and then the passing/linking up gets a little sloppy.

I fancy him to score tomorrow though.

Am I the only one who thinks we may have bought the latest in a long line of duds? Players that we have raved about from afar that proved to be not worthy of playing for Britain's most successful club?

Prove me wrong, Dirky lad. Show you can be our Van Nistelrooy.

i think thats very very harsh Paul

he was w hisker away yesterday from bagging a great goal...he can finish..he is hitting a lean spell..needs to get one of his harris and he will go

Funny how those saying he has been working too hard haven't put two and two together and noticed that his hard work and Bellamy's may well coincide with our good run of form?

Please note the word "may" in my post. And then my hope he comes good before you condemn me as an unbeliever. Also note I'm hedging my bets to cover him either coming good or being another Camara. Either way, I'm on a winner!

If you're even considering that he might be in the same bracket as Camara then you've got no chance ;)
