AnfieldCop Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 We have won more than both Man U and Chelsea in the last 5 years, but we are still a bit short of Chelsea in our domestic league. Fortunately we have the best manger in Europe and can achieve our biggest aim - to bring home number 19 , the PL crown. To do that the board has to back Rafa 100%. For the last 12-24 months Rafa has had two main transfer targets (according to Bacombe, Elisha and other) - Alves and Kuyt. We finally had to forget about Alves this summer because we couldn't afford to buy both him and a decent forward (Kuyt?). We had to go for Pennant instead (6-8 mill) and save money for the forward. Hopefully we could finally land Kuyt for 10 mill or so. Now it seems like we can't afford a 10 mill striker neither. What the fu(k is happening. The board has promised Rafa that he will get his wishes, but does he - NO. I know we have to forget about buying players like Torres, Villa, Schevchenko and others, but what he asks for is 22 mill for two main players. To be honest I fear that we will struggle to get into the top 4 this season. If Rafa do not get what he wants we can loose him sooner rather than later.

Please tell me you are joking, our squad is really strong, the players are hungry, the manager is the best, just enjoy this season!
AnfieldCop Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 where do you get the idea we can't afford Kuyt from? Elisha said so two days ago. We have to sell at least players for 4-5 mill (Dudek, Traore, Kromkamp, FSP ?). I can't see that happening before the deadline. Bascombe has also stated this. I fear that we will "lose" both players, before we get the money maybe next summer ??

Sion Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 That is just a summary of all the stupid uninformed posts made in the various transfer thread, well done on such a crap post.
AnfieldCop Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 Please tell me you are joking, our squad is really strong, the players are hungry, the manager is the best, just enjoy this season! I hope we can, but we were extremely lucky with injuries last season. What is happening if we lose Stevie, Xabi and Crouchy for some matches. By the way, are your friend happy with the clubs transfer activity
Mick_G Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 we finished top 4 last season , have strengthened , so now we will struggle for top 4 ? Come on , in an ideal world we could sign anyone we wanted , that would not neccesarily make the best team , nowhere near as much as togertherness, team spirit , tactics , support , worlds best manager (Rafa) , worlds best player (stevie) , Millions cant buy everything . Can't wait for this season to be honest , think were gonna be closer than people think
Kite Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I hope we can, but we were extremely lucky with injuries last season. What is happening if we lose Stevie, Xabi and Crouchy for some matches. I reckon, Rafa being a master tactician and all, that he will use some of the other squad members and not just field a team of eight players in those matches.
kacangpool Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Please tell me you are joking, our squad is really strong, the players are hungry, the manager is the best, just enjoy this season! Now I worry, the players don't get enough to eat.

All players that we overpaid for and have got rid of.
hideNseek Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 We're going to WIN the Premiership, so shut your nonsense up mate.

fyds Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 (edited) Stunningly daft post flying in the face of the evidence on the field - and we're already stronger than last season! Edited July 28, 2006 by fyds

Gomez Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 For the last 12-24 months Rafa has had two main transfer targets (according to Bacombe, Elisha and other) - Alves and Kuyt. Erm, until 6 months ago our top two targets were a CB and RM. We bought (apparently our first choice) CB in January and maybe we missed out on our first choice RM in Alves, but you can't really argue we've been after him for 2 years considering we were after Figo, Simao before him.
mooks Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 You a funny man crackhead.Your criticism is way OTT. It's not a bad post - but I think Mr. Cop is unaware of two things that are probablly going on: 1. Bascombe puts out club spin in order to get fairly liberal access to information. The club obviously want to give the impression they don't have much to spend. 2. Rafa won't pay over his valuation of a player irespective of how much money has been made available to him. But we're going to get Kuyt anyway so the concerns will become redundant in a few days.

By the way, are your friend happy with the clubs transfer activityWhat if the squad suffers from a virus for the whole season?!? It's possible you know (see, the Spurs food poisoning incident)!!! WE WILL BE RELEGATED!!!!!! Oh and by the way, I'd love to hear how your mates are feeling about the coming season?
Senrab_nhoj Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 But they are people Given their views on the summer transfers to date I am struggling to reconcile that statement
floyd Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 FAO of AnfieldCop. Stay away from these today, if we don't muller Kaiserslautern 5-0.
