f`king simple really carra is definetly off form, for me was at fault for the goal on sat skrtel is still getting back to full fitness insua is small johnson aint much cop at the back lucas is no alonso (alonso was excellent defending set pieces)

lucas did ok,as he has done all season... the question is.. is lucas good enough for a premiership winning side....??? no...of course not. Hes merely a stop-gap and doing an ok job until aquilani starts...

being honest, i think hes a horrible defender...but f`king fantastic on the ball going forward....he does have pace which does help at the back....so i think we can cope, kinda reminds me of dani alves.. id rather him at the back than arbeloa...saying that, i feel it means carra needs to do extra work to get across and cover.

the only thing in carras favour right now is his commitment/passion....ie..that block against west ham yesterday, the rest of his game is a step below what we have been used to in the past.. do we have any other options right now?? well we have our mad greek......who id like to see midweek alongside sktel (who needs a run of games) saying all that, i cant see Carra ever being dropped...

thought we did pretty well....started poorly, but then took control after the first goal... Thought gerrard and lucas did a good job in middle, though were not up against much it has to be said.. What alarmed me most was how easily torres got brushed off the ball by 2 fairly average center backs......havent really seen that happen much since his time at anfield, still hes definetly off the boil at the mo....that wont last long though. degen - good to finally see him...and he looked fairly good in his brieft time on the pitch.. reina - 8 a couple of excellent saves..had a great start to the season johnson - 7 did ok, looked knackered which is why he came off 2nd half.... insua - 7 quietly asured! looks likes he been around forever skrtel - 7 solid, a couple of dodgy moments but hopefully will be soon back to his best carra - 7 easy day kuyt - 8 what can you say...has become a vital player for us...outstanding workrate today benny - 9 MOM was everywhere gerrard 7 solid lucas 8 got stuck in well reira 6 fairly average, nothing spectacular....id like to him get round the back more, something we saw from his early days but not so much since torres 6 i`ll probably get some stick for marking 6 out of 10, but i honestly didnt think he had a great game today...had a number of chances to run at the defence and was easily shrugged of the ball..... subs.. degen 5 looks fairly good ngog 5 i like this guy...reckon hes far better than many think voro - well....how do i mark him?? a couple of nice passes..one which included the goal so a 6....but hey that chance at the end...oh dear oh dear....and ya know..i just kne whe was gonna miss that , as im sure did 44,000 other people in the stands..

personally im not pissed of with alonso one bit....he gave us great service, was vital with us winning the champions league, has given wonderful memories.. Are we always going to blame the player for wanting to leave when he gets d`cked around by the club so much??? after so many players leaving, all similar cirumstances......i just cant blame the player, the sole blame rests with the club and how horrible we are at handling contracts,transfers,negotiations,etc,etc,etc... The way our club is going...Im seriously worried torres might be next....

reminds me of the macca saga....who because of this has been blamed and generally hated by lots of liverpool fans.. we touted stevie the summer before to generate funds...and offerd him to barca behind his back... the next season and he is unhappy(obviously) and gets his wish and is sold to real madrid.. Always has angered me the way liverpool fans have treated steve mcmanaman since......when really we should be looking at our horrible business dealings.

to really play devils advocate... its looks like the offender....is in 2 minds when running towards the ball, to me....it seems like hes thnking about placing his foot on the top of the ball to do a drag back.....by the time he gets there, the victim has slid in and won the ball....with all the momentum from the offender down on the guys ankle... Basically i think its just awful play rather than malicious intent.....ie roy keane against that city player which was blatently intentional.

nah the performance was bad.....we had no clue once we got into the final 3rd.. oneill set his team up to stop our full backs....and it worked

now i dont think its his best position, but still....he will do a much better job than all other options.. Steven Gerrard has to move back to central midfield..........move benyoun up alongside torres, with Riera (if hopefully fit) on the left.. today lucas and masch were sitting far too deep and really are too similar..... Villa did a great job nullifing our full backs getting forward, without this option...we look strangely dull with a lack of options...so many times tonight we picked up the ball in the middle and had no options.. Lucas is ok.....he was found out tonight though, first half....20 mins i believe, he had time on the edge of the box and was far too slow in releasing the ball...this has always been his problem.. Yes moving Gerrard breaks up the partnership between him and torres, still until when Aquilani is fit... i see no better option
