  1. id push the full backs up to provide the crosses...as mentioned above, Reira hasnt been much cop recently.. gerrard to the right, kuyt behind torres...with benny on the left
  2. with you 100%..Gerrard on the right is definetly the way to go.
  3. apologies...forgot mighty insua was not registered.....so aurellio or doessena in.. and you say a bit bonkers to play an extra defender, well not... most pundits were saying it was crazy bringing on hamann against milan when we needed to score 3 goals??? no..it was tactically genius.. Chelsea are gonna set up expecting gerrard in the hole...they will also not expect agger to play in front of the back 4...let him sit there and do the alonso role....push alonso further forward and allow masch the freedom to go tearing about closing down......
  4. im trying to think of realistic posibilites....and Carra not starting aint gonna be one... Maybe...a case for playing all 3.....with agger sitting in front of the other two. -----------------reina--------------- ------------carra-----skrtl---------- --arbeloa-------agger-------insua ---------alonso---------masch----- ------kuyt-----gerrard------------- -----------------torres------------- and compress the game in the middle......have both full backs try and stretch the wings..insua and arbeloa definetly have the pace and energy to do that.....
  5. hmmmmm another suggestion.. ------------reina------------- arbeloa-carra-agger----insua- ------------masch----------- -gerrard---alonso---benny-- ----------------kuyt---------- -------------torres------------ Gerrard to be played wide right is key for me... i doubt chelsea will expect it, plus cole wont like seeing stevie attacking him at every chance....gerrard definetly has the beating of him, plus intellegence on the flanks will be vital in this game......chelsea will sit deep so pace is not going to be an issue....i
  6. looked pretty good at times last season.....this season and he hasnt made that step up..and yes hes had his chances.. weird is babel , 2% of the time he looks world class.....98% hes s****,wastes the ball...cant cross, looks lazy.. Honestly, id sell.....we can probably get 10million plus...he still has value in europe.. then id put the money towards getting a true world class winger for the left hand side.....not someone with potential but someone who is already there. Reina,gerrard,torres.......we need another world class player to sit alongside those 3..
  7. personally feel agger is quicker plus is far more comfortable bringing the ball forward....one of the problems the other night was alonso picking the ball up from both carra and skrtl deep in our half.....chelsea drop back, and xabi has no options but play a 50-50 pass...hoping torres or someone else can get on the end of it..
  8. honestly..id suprise chelsea...and play Gerrard right mid he has the beating of ashley cole.. id stick benny out left with kuyt in behind torres..id stick Agger in for skrtel, this will mean we can play a higher line, plus Aggers distribution is outstanding......vital for bringing the ball forward then looking for a cutting pass up front. Chelsea wont expect it.. Id pick benny over babel and reira as i feel we need intellegence on our left hand side, we need someone to be able to cut in and use their brain to make vital passes...benny has that.. Gerrard can do a similar job right, but also has the ability to beat cole and get to the line.. -----------------------reina------------------- arbeloa------carra----------agger-----aurellio ------------------------------------------------- gerrard----masch--------alonso-------benny- --------------torres------kuyt-----------------
  9. lucas still struggles with the speed of the english game, now hes been pretty good in europe so far..where he gets more space and time......against chelsea though and..not to be too obvious, it was more like a premiership clash....not as tactical, both teams getting stuck in, and it ended up that chelseas midfield did a far better job than ours....both lucas and alonso had poor games, lucas because he was too slow in possesion....alonso because he was able to find time and space deep in our half, but generally wasted the ball.. An off night for everyone except torres and kuyt...
  10. hahah WOW.. time for a bid in the summer....sure Rafa would sort him out From sky........ Furious Bruce to fine Zaki Wigan boss 'at the end of his tether' with Egyptian Zaki: Angered Bruce I just feel it's time that we went public on just what a nightmare he has been to deal with. I can honestly say that in all my time in football I have never worked with someone as unprofessional.Bruce on Zaki Wigan manager Steve Bruce has launched a scathing attack on Amr Zaki after the Egyptian failed to return from international duty on time. The on-loan striker was due back in Wigan on Tuesday, more than 36 hours after he had taken part in a World Cup qualifier against Zambia. Compatriot Mido returned as scheduled but Zaki did not show and repeated efforts by club staff to contact the player have proved fruitless. The Latics have received a faxed report from the Egypt team doctor claiming Zaki has a hamstring injury and needed rest but that has not been backed up by the required scan to highlight the problem. It is the fourth occasion this season that Zaki has not come back to England promptly and Bruce has promised to fine him heavily. "I really am at the end of my tether with him," Bruce said on the club's official website. "Before this latest incident, Zaki had already been fined considerably more than the average person in Britain earns in a year and he will now face another heavy fine. "This is the fourth time he has not reported back on time from international training. "I have already fined him the maximum allowed but this just seems to have no effect. "I am now fearful that if I don't take firm action, it will disrupt the rest of my squad, who - to a man - behave totally professionally. "I just feel it's time that we went public on just what a nightmare he has been to deal with. "I can honestly say that in all my time in football I have never worked with someone as unprofessional. Disappointed Bruce believes Zaki has let the supporters down and added that personally he felt extremely disappointed by the 26-year-old's behaviour. "Zaki's behaviour has shown total disrespect to the club who pays him a very good wage and equally as importantly, to the fans who sing his name from the stands," said Bruce. "I think it's time for them to know the truth about the man. "This situation needs to be resolved as soon as possible and I don't feel it's appropriate to say anything more at this stage, apart from how let down I feel, personally and professionally."
  11. signing eto`o would be a mistake in my opinion.....big money better to be spent elsewhere.. Eto`o and torres together looks like a great partnership on paper....dont think it would work on the pitch though, far too similar....also it would break up the gerrard - torres partnership...which in my opinion has the potential to sit proudly alongside rush and dalglish as a fantastic liverpool partnership.. Gerrard and Torres together has shown it works brilliantly, i see no reason for that to change......our money will be better spent on a world class winger, a solid back up striker with experience and maybe a full back.
  12. 1. reira 2. gerrard 3. arbeloa
  13. reira started well...hasnt been that good past 4 months.. A decent player.....still believe we need a step up, soneone to go alongside Torres and Gerrard as a real matchwinner.
  14. and tonights masch and babel...
  15. thats what i thought at first.....but i have a feeling the ref gave it for masch booting the ball away...which if so...was really harsh...as the ref had only blown a second before.
  16. tough tonight as all were superb.....torres,gerrard are the obvious ones...so to be different.. 1. masch - was a beast...has been poor this season, not tonight...his best performance of the season 2. aurellio - thought he was fantastic at the back and sprayed some wonderful passes....really has improved, and yes he has been injured alot...but even in the past he didnt look that great...this season he has really stepped up 3. kuyt - worked his ass of the entire 90 mins.......superb.
  17. i hate all this "madrid were poor" "weak madrid side"... crap..this madrid side has been outstanding since Ramos took over....we played them off the park, we didnt let them get into the game...Robben probably had one touch first half.. Our movement was stunning, energy and movement were superb............lets not get caught up in the hype from the so-called journs stating....."ahhhh Madrid didnt play well....it was easy for liverpool" Yes it was easy, thats because we made easy.......Madrid were fighting first 20mins..getting stuck in to every challenge...trouble for them was that we were better at it... Outstanding night!!! forget the mancs game.....lets just celebrate how friggin good we are in europe.
  18. Over 90mins...you could be right.. I cant think of many since the forest 5-0 where we dominated and controlled the play so well over the entire game......
  19. simply superb.....we`ve seen great 45 mins.....and pure domination at times.. But tonight we were superb the whole 90 mins....every player fantastic!!! Rafa is simply a genius in europe........we made a decent team look awful!! What a fantastic night! Getttinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
  20. 221 apperances 128 goals for Arsenal, impressive.. was a great player for the a***...and underrated too..
  21. shearer fowler ian wright top 3 probably the best strikers in their prime ive seen... torres isnt far behind....needs to get back to full fitness of course, lets hope these consistent injuries are not a sign of things to come....cos torres potentially can overtake all.
  22. there was a world class touch first half.....he was in the middle and flicked it over to the right..may me sit up a little that.. Then 2nd half,he scores...and starts showing some real confidence....some great awareness and his whole play really stepped up.. Should have been left on...
  23. Was also watching it on setanta and it seemed really loud.. now i was annoyed at Rafa for bringing n`gog off. who after his goal...looked full of confidence and possibly capable of another goal.......so i didnt want lucas to come on especially as it killed the game for me...and made us settle for 2-0.. ANYWAY..still with all the above....no Reds player should ever be booed when coming on as a sub or starting...
  24. really? i thought he was poor last night and has been for the past 4 months......seems to have lost the ability to beat his man and get to the line, more often that not...he cuts inside and loses the ball. Reira has worked out exactly as i thought he would...decent start, yet once defenders know how to set up against him...pretty easy to defend against.
