there was a point a couple of seasons back, i seriously thought messi would be better than Maradona.....not so sure now

Pacheco is obviously on a different planet..and so is excluded from the worlds greatest list.. Would messi or ronaldo have made the unbelievable impact Pachy made the other night? no..it will go down in legend, like cheyrous appearance a few years back in a friendly or the diomede overhead kick....

so a couple of years back....i would say messi was the best player on the planet with Ronaldo close behind.. now even though messi had a great season last and won numerous personal awards.....he still seems to have stalled in his progress, still an unbelievable talent, but has he really added that much to his game?? apart from the amazing ability to cut inside and drift past players....doesnt he need to add more to really become one of the greatest players of all time? i now watch messi and always know exactly what hes gonna do...pick it up wide right, then will look to cut in on his left foot. Ronaldo on the other hand seems to be getting better with every game, pains me to say it as i hate the guy.....but for me he is by far the best player in the world right now...hes a genius at free kicks, can take penaltys, great in the air, etc,etc I think next years world cup could be a battle between these 2 for player of the tournament(obviously early to say, but i reckon both are light years ahead of anyone else right now).....and while i think Portugal dont have good enough players surrounding Ronaldo.....For messi he will be surrounded by quality and has a gresat chance to really make the tournament his own...

fantastic player and comes across as a real down to earth, intellegent guy.. am a bit worried by his constant injuries.....cos he really does have the chance to go down a legend..right now its "potential to be a legend".....

has to be henchoz -hyypia fantastic partnership...imagine those 2 with Reina behind, we`d never concede..ever in fact id be a suprised a team of the decade could do without.. reina hyypia gerrard torres hamann I could see how people might swap henchoz for carra.....but all the above should be definetes, every other position is up for debate

i liked xabi....though for me he had only 2 good seasons, his first and last....inbetween was horribly inconsistent and constant injuries/niggles.....

the still fairly recent uefa cup final we played in ...amzing game, ive watched it time and time again...would never trade that for fecking 4th spot! sorry but theres nothing better than winning a cup/championship... order for me will always be 1. premiership 2. champs league 3. fa cup 4 uefa/europa/whatever they wanna call it.. 5. worthy/league cup..whatever they wanna call it.. 6....finishing 2nd,3rd,or 4th in the league

sorry but holding up banners,etc aint gonna get the press nor attention this requires.. While i appreciate the efforts of those participating...i honestly dont see the point in holding a demonstration this way....It needs something unique something that will actualyl create broad interest not just across the country but world.... ie...the kop completely empty(my favoured demonstration) with one massive banner in the fans place mass walkout after the kickoff fans form a circle outside,around anfield during the game and chant

thought he was outstanding first half......only 20 and i see huge potential in this lad.. Has a great touch, fantastic movement off the ball and definetly has an eye for goal Hes done a decent job filling in for torres....reminds of a young trezeguet oh and i was gonna add insua to the positive thread...`cept he had an awful 2nd half...which seems a common thing for him

was gonna post this in that "other" thread..but it got locked! I think its vital as to how important the "right hand man" is..... anyway dont think they are that different to be honest... houllier peaked with the treble......then we finish 2nd Patrick bergues left after the season of the treble....then some poor signings were made...and houllier never recovered. rafa peaked with the champs league win......followed that with an excellent fa cup win.. his vital right hand man left..Pako(apprently over a dissagrement regaridng the signing of ryan Babel,)...we finish 2nd the season after......,..... and now the season after.....matches houlliers, we look a tactical mess

i dont want him out.. BUT if we lose to Everton, think it might become too much pressure for him to stay

thought ngog was excellent in the first half.........by far our best player and definetly deserved the goal

crap first half.... hope for more in the 2nd...cant think of anything of real note...the injuries disrupted a fairly bright start
