I'm not one to pick on others opinions - but your memory of Cisse is a little far fetched. Cisse was quick - that's it for his strengths. He had no (footballing) brain. He missed more opportunities than Andy Cole. He wasn't a team player. Admittedly had some horrific injuries. But in summary, he got 'found out' when he came to us... Oh...I nearly forgot...he couldn't trap a bag of cement. Hence look at him being dropped by France for Euro 2008, and other games as soon as they have a different option... And on a slightly more comedic note - he tops this list of Ten players you don’t want linked to your club

A quick thought....Spurs 'allegedly' signing Capel for 8M. We're 'allegedly interested' in Silva at 15/20M.... That makes Capel a bargain in my book - 2 years younger, very highly rated etc etc.... Surprised we haven't been linked (like with everyone else)

Silva looked good on the ball, but why did Aragones put him on the right so soon, and then not change him back? And taking Torres off was an even stranger decision - they're through despite their manager....

I was thinking much the same - he apologises when he makes a bad pass, and even tracks back on regular occasions. Much like other leading players(not!!). Obviously a quality player.

A pleasure to watch the Russians. Amazing how they have turned it around since the first round. They have so much pace all over the park - always a danger, and turn defence into attack in a second. Arshavin is class, but Pavluchenko ain't bad either... My money's still on Spain - there's no surprise factor there now for the Russians.... Spain/Germany final for me.

David Silva would be an interesting target, I think he's only 22 - and do you remember the screamer against Chelski? For some reason, I find his mention more exciting than David Villa, but then I'm a leftie fan.

I think they're stuck with him, because they won't accept a big loss. I'm also confused and a little perturbed at the general pricing of players going on - seems we can't get the price we want for any player we have (Crouch, Alonso, Riise, Pennant etc) and yet when we play the same game and 'underbid' shall we say (Barry) we get nowhere. Are we really that rubbish at the negotiating? Or am I just reading too much into Forum and newspaper rumours? (Likely the case )
