Taking the thread back aways...about timing...a thought just struck me after seeing the Wigan result and scorer. Why on earth would we not want to be able to close deals Jan 1...and therefore get the players in a full month ahead to acclimatise, meet their new team mates and even score!! Surely that would be smarter eh?? Or has this b******s driven me right round the bend..... (likely so).

Dam I must have missed us signing those two guys? Where were they from? They sound Eastern European...

Agree on first point - I think he was clearly asking for financial backing... Agree on second - alhtough it's all conjecture until something happens. Hence this is a Forum for views and heated debate....which today is pretty hot

Defnition of last minute = Simao getting on the plane on the last day of the summer transfer window. Maybe not exactly the last minute (if we're being pedantic) but last hours!! I'm simply echo DH's comments (which are very balanced in my opinion) that it 'seems' like we have not learned our lesson (especially on that deal). How come in the past 4 mths we did not move that forward?

IMO this sounds the same as the summer. We have a valuation much lower than their money grabbing El Presidente. Chelski and the Mancs paying over the odds has caused the rest of the world to think all English clubs will do the same. I don't have a good feeling about this one. We should walk away if it continues...20M Euros is way high, even 15M Euros too high for me (think of any Portugal games you have seen...was he a star? Not that I remember!).

Throw in "eh" whenever you can, and mix with in a few "oot and aboots" and you'll be grand

I am stunned and shocked at some of the diatribes on this forum. Big up to Big Wayne for talking some sense. Bottom line for me is that two years in a row I have been shocked and diappointed by the outcome with MO. But it is what it is...so now let's just get on with what we have, and support the team rather than divide and beat each other up.......
