Now THAT sounds like a plan....I'd take Quaresma, or Villa (and turn him into a winger!!)

So I guess to refer back to the thread headline.... It's IF and not WHEN now.....

Just read that Torres was p*ssed at being subbed - didn't really notice him refusing to shake Aragones hand? > here Maybe Aragones is the Spanish Fergie....

What he actually said (in Spanish of course) was........... "I told you we look good in Red together, you keep the 9, and I'll take the 7 !!!" Dare to dream that we could get him, but realistically with the ownership and funds situation, unlikely sadly......but for this tourney, we can count them as our own!!

I rate Arteta too - however no'kin chance of the bitters ever dealing. Nice 'throw out' though..let's see how long it takes to hit the newswire

At current rates, that's about half a C Ronaldo eh?

Interesting.....mine came from Premiership handbook (it says something like Section M1) - are there multiple versions of this out there? Might explain the general mayhem

Thanks - didn't realise this was the case so checked on Premiership web page and found this.... "The first Transfer Window in any year shall commence at midnight on the last day of the Season and shall end on 31st August next if a Working Day or, if not, on the first Working Day thereafter, at a time to be determined by the Board." In which case.....where are the Big Name Signings??!

Site seems to be down for me....but I think I remember Kaizer was one of the few not predicting Spain would win....but Italy.....

Ditto. Been away a few days....and nothing? Seems strange................

I'd disagree with that - but then that's what Forums are all about eh! Where can Pennant play? - RW....that's it, no flexibility at all. Milner could play RW, LW, even up front - so with that flexibility he's a better option on that front alone. I think he's be OK, only OK, but better than Pennant. Would still rather we had a world beater, however look at the past few seasons - we'll likely only get one top class player due to cost (I'm I'm hoping that's not just Barry....)

We should do a Poll on Milner - is he crap, is he better than Pennant, is he an interesting 22 year old long term option etc? IMHO I have always thought he's look good, but generally playing for average teams. He's no world beater mind, but you don't want a team of C Ronaldo's do you?? Imagine the handbags, and fights over mirrors and hair gel in the changing rooms.

Not forgetting Voronin....

Phew - lots 'virtually' going on today then... Like last year, maybe time for a decent summary My 2 cents (I'm in Canada) HTH.... - Dunne - No thanks, real trier but makes too many Djimi-like mistakes - Duff - Sadly too many injuries. 3 years ago would have snapped your hand off. But as a freebie option....maybe worth it? - Barry - Sounds like it may happen, coing round to it, but don't find it inspiring. We'll miss Alonso (well the old Alonso anyway) - Dossena - Done deal it seems, but 7M is a big chunk for a LB - Bentley/Riera/Milner - all smoke and mirrors methinks - I think Rafa has a 'bluebird' coming here... - Being Skint - sadly money does not grow on trees, and we don't have deep pockets, so like most clubs we'll have to sell aswell. Not quite sure what the issue here is - apart from we don't have a billionaire Russian benefactor? - Alves - no f*ckin chance. No way we'd pay 30M Euros. Can't see he is worth that - Quaresma - 40M Euros buyout according to their GM. Non starter unless they're dealing but they need the cash now. - Villa - Interesting, but think they will want too much. Also not convinced he has the size to cope in Premiership. - Muntari - In swap deal with Crouch? Highly rated at Portsmouth, but another CM? I've probably missed twelvety more, and this is just today.....and we're still nearly a month to the transfer window......

It says here that Quaresma can go for his buy out clause of 40M Euros. That will be that then.

I agree with you....but it would be nice to throw that dice eh? Someone like Quaresma could IMHO be a major impact player in the Premiership, let alone Europe. However, doubt we'll have the funds.....................

Torres would be delighted at that description (I can see the T shirt now!!), as would the rest of the pigeons/rats - are you Cantona in disguise? To be fair Torres has performed better in first season than a huge majority of international signings. Villa IMHO has less of the size/physicality to succeed so fast in English football.

Not been a fan of signing Barry, but am coming round to the idea now. 1/ Barry is in form, and proper leftie - will give balance and better left side options. 2/ Barry and Stevie are mates, and complement each other. 3/ Xabi not been on form since injuries, and way below the passing genius he was when he came 4/ Xabi is one of Rafa's boys - so if Rafa really is letting him go when Xabi doesn't want to (if you believe all the press) you have to believe Rafa knows something more. 5/ Barry is same speed as Xabi (i.e. slow) so no loss there

Comedy Gold....

My guess is Rooney too - anyone remember the story (was it last summer or the one before) where Owen had set him up with a guy who he could 'text' bets too, and the sharp idiot was texting bets left right and centre, but not keeping tabs? I remember that being quoted as 750k debts.....

This REALLY is a great idea. Mods - Get onto it will ya You could use that there new fangled web technology to have an indicator of 'believeability' next to each person's name......
