What ever happened to the Polish winger from Germany - Jakub Blaszczykowski? Mentioned at the last window, and in early January?

Love it - they should also wear balaclavas and each away game could be a smash and grab.

I watched the replay of the game last night, and apart from the ridiculous lack of marking on the equaliser, the thing that struck me the most was how off-form Keane really is. It's a shame as he seems a good lad, and also has ability, but just not making it work, particularly with Torres. This lead me to think of Torres - it's obvious he's our spearhead, and we need to build around him (and Stevie) but I still think he needs a partner up front (other than Stevie, who would make it a triple threat). So who would you partner with Torres, and why? And who/what type of player has he had success with before. In the Euro Cup, I personally thought his effectiveness reduced when he played with David Villa. At Atletico did he have success with Aguero? Not seen much of that partnership. I would love to think, and hope, that Keane and Torres do work it out - if they do it could be our season. Thoughts?

A real struggle to remember anyone who deserved it...but Skrtel seemed to be involved a lot, and Sami was a rock.

The rest on here should stop and look at this post - very well put, scary but well put.

Back to the topic : My first reaction yesterday was that it was 'funny' that Rafa did this, now I'm having second thoughts....along the lines of LFC always handling things the Liverpool way and keeping things in house - not sure we benefit from things like this, and the very public debacle of the owners, and the Barry saga.

A view from afar in Canada, I watched the game yesterday, and was puzzled at the team selection but I think a few things contributed. 1/ Playing against a team with 4 big lads at the back we chose Kuyt up front, obviously beating them with pace was not the plan. 2/ Lucas and Masch in the middle I don't see as a good combination - way too negative. 3/ Riera had an off day 4/ Benni on right with Carra not a good combo - we can't expect Carra to suddenly become an attacking/overlapping RB. Even if he was no point as only Kuyt in middle (when he stayed there) 5/ Aurielio was poor, but then what are the other options?? 6/ Stevie tried but didn't rescue us as he has done recently 7/ Overall a strange team selection - seemed to be very deep with little ability to create anything. 8/ Xabi was missed 9/ WTF is going on with Keane? 10/ Stoke have worked out a game plan, bringing in the touchlines, bombing in the long throws, scoring a high % on set pieces and seems a shame we could not work that out. Anyway, probably (in Carling fashion) the worst game I have seen us play in some time, hopefully it will be a turning point.

Owen to Citeh on a free mentioned here

I like this view, well put. Just saw the Rafa interview, he looked pretty pissed off, and it was almost like it was a set up. Also saw a bit of a Fergie interview where he lost it with the press, not sure if this was after Rafa's effort, but either way it was funny watching Fergie get redder and redder.

Rafa's a diamond. I love the fact that after a well thought out, and stats ridden 'rant' he finishes by saying - "I would rather not talk too much about this, though, when we have an important game ahead." Class

Just a quick comment on the Heskey rumour - are you serious? He didn't cut it first time round, has not got any better, so why now? I was at his first game where we immediately started lumping it to him and he fell over a lot. Some folks have short memories. Let's leave the past in the past.

Just watched the game, and thought the same - Bale looked very slow, and poor on the ball. Lennon looked dangerous until he tried to pass anything, then he looked about the same level - Everton reserves.
-
Agreed. I remember reading that Pearcey asked him to do too much tracking back while he was at Citeh, but he seems to want to to do that now. He certainly gives us another outlet, and can hold the ball up, beat people and now score. Seems a good one to me

I'm trying to work out WTF Pennant is thinking....maybe hanging out for a free and a bigger pay packet as he knows he's crap and will be found out at Real?

Struggling to pick 3 to be honest. 1. Alonso 2. Torres 3. Kuyt

Watched the game live over here in Canada early this morning, and been out most of the day but was interested to see the comments about the sitters we (and Bolton to be fair) missed. I don't remember seeing a game for a long time with so many god awful misses (I reckon 4 for us that even I could have finished and 2 for Bolton). Was great to see Torres come on today...he looks absolute class, and will give us another gear. Despite our defence today looking a little shaky...I'm getting a little hopeful I was checking out our upcoming fixtures, and I like the look of them right through to Feb 1....I also mentioned our early fixtures looking good before the season started, so I reckon we'll be up there.

Grollocks....

Great ball by Xabi, great chance for Keane...thought the keeper looked suspect...I like a suspect keeper!
-
It's a nice thought...but I'd take 1-0.

"It was an emotional game"..........jaysus!!! I was crying at Pennant and Dossena the whole game, and at Agger for a while there. I cheered at Albert - he's ace. I literally laughed out loud at Kuyts goal!! Bit fortunate given the performance, but we'll take it!!
-
5 mins extra - from where? I'm going to have a heart attack here....we have an extra man, but seem to have forgotten how to keep and pass the ball. and PLEASE stop giving it to Pennant.....oh and Agger too - he's scaring me now too
