Firstly, thanks! This is all we need to know right now rather than - I watched him once, saw youtube, remember 2 years ago blah blah blah. The deal has been done, he's our player so let's back him, give him the support he deserves and hope he acclimatises quickly and becomes a legend.

What a comedy - I read the Mike Ashley quotes on BBC this morning, and was thinking how KK will always be a guy who will follow his heart and not really a fella to rely on in the heat of the battle these days. He's my iconic LFC player that I grew up idolizing, so I don't say that lightly. Then this.....too funny. I guess it could all be a media misunderstanding.....or maybe the outcry from the fans was totally underestimated. Either way, a shambles. Makes me feel better about our transfer shambles......a little

Uh oh uh oh....Babel time Oh and another thing - must get more players with names like Igor de Camago - great name!

Made it to half time.....more than a bit fortunate. Hopefully Rafa has something written on his pad that will help

They're big lads these lot....can't see us winning much on corners.

Pavlyuchenko is a great signing for Spurs (so long as it happens)....he has pace, size, is a real trier and looks a constant threat. Excited to see how he goes in the Premiership. Wonder if they'll sign Arshavin too now ?

To be honest if we could palm Voro off on them, I'd make Riera my new hero - and Espanyol my favourite Spanish team over Barca. Think I'm safe tho'....

Back on topic - I really do hope we get a left sided player this week. And one who really can go outside his man too. It's been too long without a decent LM/LW (including the Kewell years). Downing - Would be OK, young enough and I think he can improve too. Riera - I'm not sure about. Seems more of a luxury player from what I've read. Would rather a Rafa surprise - but can't think who it would be.....

Bit late I know ....but the Ngogfathers are in

Is this for real? Surely these types of sell on clauses are done on any 'profit' aren't they? Otherwise it's just a discount on the original price...so we paid 10.5M GBP (approx 14.8M Euros), but 'owe' 6M if he leaves for less thatn 16M Euros? Struggling to understand what's good in that for us unless we keep Xabi for ever??

Just back from me hols - can't get my head around this - not sure why LFC would release this sort of statement, although obviously it means they are admitting there are and have been issues between Parry and Rafa. Well we all knew that, but why admit it 'out loud' so to speak - surely it just weakens the 'united front' (apols for the use of that word!!).

Think he'll do well - still only 22/23 and a quick ball playing defender. Was just reading on BBC that he refused to fly home after being sent off in first game at Olympics, so Hambug threatened to sue the Belgian FA.... Seems to me like someone at Citeh is paying attention !! And they have picked up a good player IMHO.

Better ask Mystic Meg....or Elisha, who seems to have gone to ground.

Following today's (non) 'statement' by Parry, the various stuff from Rafa in the near past, and the Barry and Keane issues - I'm feeling really p*ssed that we are now airing our dirty laundry 'in public' so to speak. Why is this? Is it the way the media has taken over our lives so much? Are we taking a whole new approach? Is it the language issues? Whatever it is - I can't see it does us any favours as a club, and wish we'd go back to the Liverpool way - keep it in house. Thoughts?

It's the OLYMPIC GAMES - Held once every 4 years, a unique world event. And you get a Gold Medal if you win. I am surprised anyone would question why they might go....

This just gets curioser and curioser......what a bizarre way for it to continue. How much more helpless and stupid could MON make himself look? I'd still agree Barry is overpriced, but sounds like Rafa will get his man!

I was thinking it has been a few years since we had a really decent start....so I checked it out !! Last year we did not lose until December, but we drew a cr*p load of dumb games (Porstmouth and Birmingham early on come to mind), and played very poor in just about every other game, hence I guess I saw it as poor. First 10 games = W 5 D 5 L 0 2006-7 was a pretty poor start too - W 4 D 2 L4 in first 10 games. 2005-6 - We had the run of 10 wins from end October, but first 10 were W 4 D 4 L 2. 2004-5 - W 5 D 2 L 3 (losing 3 of first 10 still not championship winning form) 2003-4 - W 4 D 2 L 4 2002-3 - W 7 D 3 L 0 - But then the crazy middle phase where we did not win from 9 Nov until 18th Jan. So overall I would say we're not great starters....would be good to change that this time round, and see us up there early on and IMHO I think it could happen with thes fixtures we have this time. <fingers crossed>

Classic....the thread should have ended here ......

Mainly because I'm bored with the transfers now (the Barry saga/debacle is hilarious) and I can't wait for the season to start, I was checking out the fixtures to see if there are any games I could get to if and when I plan my next trip home...and ended up focusing on the early fixtures.... Apart from ManU, the first 7 or 8 fixtures all look winnable (in my rose tinted specs) and I was thinking given our usual poor starts, this could be the making or breaking of the year. Also given the Olympics Footie is schedule to go 7-23 Aug, and if we can get through the first two games against 'Northern Spurs' and Boro.....it could be set for a good start for once! What a total comedic embarassment this has become. Considering MON accused us of 'tapping up' Barry in the first place, and since then we've been (I think pretty much) totally silent on the issue....Villa have been the ones using the press to air their views (not being at Liverpool's behest etc) and now the 'deadline'. Shambolic by Villa.....can't see how they can make it work now. Barry must be so p*ssed off....
