Fantastic result, and great attitude - even though against 10 men for 60 mins. Shows we can do it against anyone, although still think it's a shame we could not do that Saturday though (but then I'm an FA Cup romantic). s***ty but hilarious to watch on the Chinese streams though.....they get excited at the most bizarre moments.

Oh cr*p...just came in and saw last 2 minutes over here. What a disaster.....I'm so gutted I hardly know what to think. Seems to me this was coming and we didn't learn our lesson after Havant?! CR&P.....
-
It just looks tough because we've been playing s****. If we were on form, we'd not worry at all aside from the top 3.

Thought I'd share this with you - George Gillet was just interviewed at 2nd interval of the Habs (Montreal Canadienes) vs. NY Rangers game over here in Canada. I had to rush to set the DVR, but got most of it. Sadly, there was nothing specific to LFC, but thought I'd share anyway, as I guess it's rare we see or hear that much from George, and this was very personal and didn't seem set up at all (the interviews within the Hockey games rarely are) so you tend to get straight answers. Here's the gist of what I saw & heard: - He was interviewed by Ron McLean, who is generally not afraid to call people out, but was very nice and thankful to Gillett for what he's done with Montreal. He was there with his wife Rose. - Has a Marketing background with the Dolphins, and also the Harlem Globetrotters!! (yeah I know the older ones of you are humming their tune right now) - When asked about his time with Montreal it was mentioned he was very careful not to tell a near 100 year old franchise what to do. "It is about the fans and respecting the tradition....and the more we respect and understand that tradition the better we do....it's also about kids, it's about bringing new people to the game" - "The age at which kids make up their mind how they spend their recreation time is 5th grade, so they gave every kid in the Montreal area in the 5th grade at least one free ticket to one Montreal Canadiens game. They brought their friends, families and as a result they have seen a major transition in the typs of fans they have and they're proud of that." - Back to the Harlem Globetrotters, George was asked what the secret of a good 'product' is- he told a story about when his Father was raising him. His Father coming home from work (his Dad was a Doctor) and he sat down with a glass of Jack Daniels (he normally didn't drink), and 'boy' George said to him, "Dad is something bothering you? And he said yup George, I watched an awful lot of people come through my office today and I'm not sure how many of them are really happy. If you have a choice in life, try and go into a business or profession where you put smiles on peoples faces. And we've had that privilege." - He also was asked getting through the ups and downs in other businesses like his skiing business in Vale - he said it's all about value. " These fans, as long as we give them a great product on the ice, and give them good value at the concession stands they'll be happy. When we came to Montreal we made a commitment that we were going to drop the price on at least 10% of our seats every year, and we've done that. We have a family zone, where you can have 4 tickets and 4 meals, 4 drinks for $100. We also have a Molson X zone, up high where you can see any game for $23 or less. And those are thousands of seats." The commentator said he plays beer league hockey with a friend who went to the last Montreal game in Toronto, and was walking down the street and a Limo stopped by him, rolled down the window - and it was George Gillett and he thanked him for wearing his Montreal Canadienes Jersey. Gillett looked a bit embarassed, but said thanks and seemed very genuine. He took the opportunity to thank all the Habs (Canadienes) fans all over the country. Bottom line for me... he came across as a guy with Marketing/Business ideas, but obviously very genuine. When he was asked tough questions on the Hockey front, he openly said if it was not something he'd thought about. Of course he has his business lense on things, but you could see he is a fan, and seemed a genuine guy. I just wish I had known he was coming on - because I think there is a way to send in questions and I could have got them to ask about us!!!! MODS: If there is a more appropriate place for this, please put it there!

Just watching 2nd half of Juventus vs. Cagliari and Momo came on as a sub replacing Tiago I think. Sitting in front of back 4, has been solid - "crowd are warming to him already, he's made a couple of good challenges and has been neat on the ball" - is a fair summary. Has been feeding short balls to the better players. Two comedy moments - Momo suddenly got time and space and tried to play a long cross field ball to RW - hit 3 opposing players in the way. Some things never change!! 2nd comedy moment - Cagliari forward is called - AcquaFresca...has advertising now got this bad in Italy, a player can now be 'owned' by a shower gel??? Anyhoo - Good to see Momo getting on quickly, and looks like he'll fit in well. Good luck to him and hope he does well.

And......B-R-E-A-T-H-E!!!!!! F*ck me I've never been so worn out by reading a thread in my life. Amazing how so sensationalist cr*p from a hack working for a total rag of a newspaper can cause so much angst. Here's a suggestion - wipe your *ss with that rag, that's about as much as it's always been good for.

I'd agree with giving the Torres, Crouch partnership a run - at least Crouch offers a different type of threat. And after all.... what are the options Mascherano was great, all over the pitch today and even became a great distributor - although when he does this is negates Stevie a little, and I do think Stevie plays for the team when other players do this, and holds back a little. Maybe that's why he's seen as inconsistent. My worries today were seeing Lucas on the left. Why oh why? And no Benayoun, when he's been the man in form, and yet he 'could' play on the left (at a push, but more likely than Lucas) and is defo ahead of Pennant in my book. Seemed strange and proved that way, the balance was all wrong.

1/ Mascherano....by a long way! 2/ Reina 3/ Torres

I just watched the whole game again over here, and for his 2nd (or is it 3rd?) game I'd say Skrtel looked solid. Bear in mind he hadn't trained in a while (winter break in Russia) and new team and team mates (and don't know how good his English is). Bearing all that in mind - he puts his foot in, doesn't shirk, has a little pace (well a lot compared to Sami and Carra) and seems comfortable on the ball. Very VERY early days yet - remember how long it took Vidic to bed in at ManU?? Even then, Bellamy made him look a total carthorse against us.
-
Wenger - I am not after Woodgate I'm still hopeful....
-
Damn...I just read that a 3rd team were in the hunt, and was hoping it might be us. I really rate Woody, solid defender, and can play a bit - and has the Spanish link - so all the signs are there. I feel a bit like Mystic Meg after that I wonder is she's available?
-
Great idea!!!! Let's get a supporters ballot together to make the players get Keegan/Terry Mac curly perms - and bring back the glory days Love the draw - the tide is turning I tell ya, I can feel it in my water (not that you need to know that).
-
With all the other stuff that's going on right, amazing to think the window has nearly passed with little action. Can't really see much happening now given the finances etc. but maybe we'll get a nice surprise or two (I'm hoping for Riise exit mostly).
-
Carson is overrated - has good and bad games, but makes dumb mistakes - that might be related to the fact that he's a thick as sh*t. Not seen much of Itandje - but from what I have he's gash too. What happened to Mihaylov?
-
A lot of guys out there need to have a serious word with themselves. I thought Rafa liked a certain a type of team player, with 'great mentality' and leaders on the pitch. Didn't see much of any of that on 2nd half (didn't see the first thankfully). I'm keeping my head down for the next few days - I'm going to be getting a ripping after that. As should they...but doubt they will given the current circumstances.
-
WHAT the f*** was that - Crouch and Kuyt couldn't score in a Brothel....................... How can they be so lacking in confidence...just feckin bang it!!!
-
Finally got the Chinese feed working... From the brief bit I've seen - We look amateur, not them - seems no options when we bring the ball out. And more of them on the pitch even. Embarassing, and not acceptable for a professional team.
-
WHAT THE F&CK IS GOING ON??? I'm in Canada (games not on here) and just spoke to my Dad, who told me (or rather gloated) that we were 1-0 and now 2-1 down against a bunch of amateurs. How can this possibly happen? I've just checked out the team, and WHY oh WHY play Babel, Skrtel, in this kind of game? Carra should be on, this is where we need him, and Kuyt - at least he'll work. I'm embarassed....but good on the boys from Havant I guess. CR@P.
-
Hear f*ckin hear. I for one am sick and tired of all the cr@p aimed at Kuyt on here. He may not be a Torres, but there's only one of them, and he is a leader and obviously rated by Rafa. He's simply lost his confidence, it happens.

Had the misfortune of seeing FSC phone in show
Whitey replied to Frosty Jack 's topic in Liverpool FC
All the presenters on there are muppets - although it's worth watching for the Comedy mispronunciations every time. It is however (for us N.American based folk) one of the few regular specifically "soccer" (I hate that so much) shows. Needs must..... -
A mate just sent me a link to Keegan's 'Soccer Circus' www.soccercircus.com - I'm going next time I'm back in Blighty!! I'm thinking he'd rather do that still than throw himself back into the fire at Newcastle!!
