  1. so Real, if things go according to plan will have their back four sorted, possibly Cesc and Robben as well as Raul, Ronaldo, Cassano, Beckham. Blimey.
  2. that would be great. united replace beans with Evra. Perfect! the only problem for me, is the money they will be getting for horse, beans and stepover. add that to the blood money from the russians they have a decent pot

    Darren Bent

Funny how some fans are calling for Ashton, when in reality Bent has done more last season. Also, anyone else have a giggle when they see our front line of Bent and Crouch? Maybe need to sign the german player, Kuntz.

    Cisse off to OM

I say offer Ibrahimovic and trezeguet a loan for a year. No risk to us, Juve, if as predicted only go to serie B, they cna have them back once they are back in top flight and we save money.

    Alves

diouf was considered a bargain at 10million, and cisse a steal at 14. You get my drift on that too. Extreme examples, but we can't afford another waste like that. we aren't united who can afford to waste money on Veron type transfers. If Rafa believes he is worth 10.5mil, then that is what he will pay. By waiting until later in the summer we are saving his wages too, and it probably stops Seville doing any trading too. (although this could be true of us too).
  6. every world cup, you realise a whole host of players will finally hang up their boots. Thought I would put together a list. Its quite a highly regarded group this time. retired: Zidane (again) Khan Figo Carlos Pauleta last world cup Lehmann cannaravo Campell Thuram Nesta Del Piero Barthez Van der saar
  7. My understanding is, it works like depreciation. Yes, they can offset the depreciation against the profit of the club. however, on the flip side, when the player is sold, he is invariably sold at a profit on his contract, and therefore you pay tax then. for example, horseface. His contractual (and therefore papervalue) is 4million pounds, because of the depreciation. they then sell him for 10million, meaning they have to declare that as a 6million profit on disposal of an 'asset'
  8. giggs, Scholes, horse face, Neville all will need replacing in the next two years. However, with Obi mikel, step over, and the money they'll get for the horse will give them money to rebuild. My hope is he'll buy older crap players and then next season spurs nick into the top 4 ahead of them. Its not beyond the realms of possibility. at the moment, united need: GK, RB, LM, CMx3. thats a minimum. however, look at their team reputation. they still finished second with what they have, so they certainly can't be ignored. Also we are still in early July, with another 7 weeks of the window still open. Man U have a good revenue stream, and much of that is passive, in that it comes from international fans who just love the brand.
  9. I actually think this is escaping punishment.
  10. Look at it this way. If we had a buy back clause with Owen, he would have joined us last summer. In 2 years time, when we have won the title and looking a really strong outfit, and Depor perhaps not doing so well, and we made an offer, he may look at giving it another go.
  11. I need to buy a new liverpool top for my son and me. We held off last season as we knew adidas were coming in. However, do we hold off for another year as we will probably get a new sponsor, or buy the new shirt now, and still 'represent'? What are others doing? Have the club factored that into the revenue from merchandise for this season?
  12. If they go down to Serie B, I would think most players would stay. Why not? its one season. In fact, they could offer most of the 'stars' a loan season to another club, and then come back when Juve back in A. the real impact will be in the CL. They will suffer the chelsea effect of poor/no season in the CL and therefore seeded lower. Even if they only go to B, they will be 2 seasons without CL. What I can't understand, is why UEFA are not looking at their matches in Europe. Possibly because they haven't really succeeded in recent seasons?
  13. Personally, would prefer Nolan...
  14. Hassony, I was referring to Ripley saying that spurs need a keeper. I don't see that as a high priority and I don't think spurs supporters do either.
  15. Think about all the money we save on wages if he signs in August?
  16. why do they need a keeper? Robinson is a great keeper. With any luck, they will challenge top 4, and overtake arsenal or scum next season. Credit to them for giving it a real go.
  17. exactly, I actually think neville, and ferdinand did fine. I actually don't have a problem with the back four overall. Neville, Terry, Rio and Cole with Robinson is pretty good. The problem is depth. Who else is capable at right and left back? at CB after Carra there is not much else there either. The middle is the real problem. Anyone who can see knows that the real value is cole,Hargreaves/Carrick, Lampard/Gerrard, Lennon/SWP. however, brazil can fit in all their best players, same with argentina and france. surely we can fit in lampard and Gerrard in the same team. Perhaps we need to go to go with 3 at the back? Or perhaps Gerrard in the free role behind Rooney?
  18. One thing is clear, just invite Brazil and Argentina to the Euro championship, and be done with the world cup.
  19. so for obi they get 12, for ronaldo probably 20, not a bad summer for them. Leaves them with only 240mil debt to go.
  20. this is great news. I hope it continues. Who else can they buy? I hope they get Carlos and fat Ronaldo. Its like Bolton with money!!! what will happen in 2 seasons? How will they keep them all happy? I hope they also sign Vieira and a few others. In the line up what about Kalou and Obi Wan Mikelbi
  21. You would think with that much time left, van would have been running off the pitch instead of wasting a minute getting off.
  22. its all over now.
  23. how was that a foul on the keeper?
  24. When was the last time the extra time added was correct? I expect 4 minutes, which seems to be the norm.
  25. Comeon Netherlands!!!! Surely Fifa will sanction a few of the portugese players? they have been diving all game.
