  1. It would be helpful and interesting to know for sure how much of the Wirtz transfer was driven by Slot. If it was foisted on him by Hughes and told to make it work even if it marginalises Salah I could believe it because its obviously its been awkward and disruptive and has placed Slot into a tough position If its his own project though its pretty damning cos nobody seems to know Wirtz's position and Salahs claims have way more credence
  2. ...or have one of those inexplicable "why the f*** don't you do that every week" brilliant games where everyone's on it and we think we're back
  3. Forgot about that. He's been an extremely silly boy
  4. He hardly did it all last season either yet scored and made most of our goals. He shouldn't have kicked off publicly but he's also not wrong
  5. I doubt this is true. They'll have a list of replacements/interims at hand depending on which way the wind blows. Another collapse like Leeds or loss like PSV and the noise gets too intense, they'll have to act. Would love to know what the dynamics are between FSG and Edwards/Hughes, got to be war room vibes
  6. Salah first, then Slot, that's how it will go
  7. This doesn't happen if Slot brings Mo on Instead of Isak. It wasn't a wise decision and his excuse doesn't hold water. The agenda to push out Mo is not imagined, but it has backfired because of the abject nature of our performances I think Salah has acted impetuously and selfishly but I also think Slot should have seen it coming. And on top of that there are many unknowns regarding dressing room dynamics that will come out eventually, and I don't think it will show Slot having control, which is his job. A very difficult job which the trauma of Jota has made near impossible So I sympathise with Slot, he's a good guy and showed he's an excellent manager - it's no small thing to win the Premier League. But a rupture was inevitable and he should rightly take the bullet for it otherwise we won't be able to move forward
  8. Salah was brilliant v Real Madrid, he even beat the defender on the outside a few times that game That's what's weird to me, the players have it in them to perform the basics and more well enough to see off one of the top teams in Europe,...just the once though, then back to turgid s***e in the league
  9. he'd probably go more Father Ted Golden Cleric acceptance speech "...and now we move onto liars..."
  10. I think it's more obvious by the day that he's lost the players
  11. We can't have been good, we were 2 nil up and let them back into it, then scored a 3rd and the thing we knew would happen happened, and if there was another ten mins to play we'd most likely have lost. We were not good
  12. That's fair. I'm grasping at straws cos much as I agree with your point I think it's become too toxic for Slot to remain
  13. He's not undroppable because we've no cbs left, he's too bad to keep picking, I actually feel sorry for him when I'm not in a rage throwing my slippers at the telly. He needs benching. And then it's Gomez, Grav, Endo in that order according to availability
  14. That's where I'm at too, make something happen fsg, this can't go on
  15. It's poor handling of a singular talent Yes Salah is hurting the club by being selfish. Also Slot is demonstrating he's not able to manage a club as big as us
  16. I dont get this fear of becoming the new mancs, its just doom mongering...we're already the media laughing stock du jour now with Slot lost and Salah kicking off This continuing is untenable, too much chaos, and the owners have to twist rather than stick I dont see them getting who they want mid season so an interim is most likely. If they did get Gerrard I'd say it would be on very specific interim terms to do with their summer targets and any of that noise could be headed off at the pass I don't think he's a good manager but given his love for the cub and popularity with the players could at least consolidate the squad and get them playing with some of their old confidence back
  17. My opinion is that Slot has f***ed it, has nothing left to turn things around and it's (literally) pointless keeping him now. He should have handled Mo better, maybe hooked him in some of those games, made his point and asserted his authority There is definitely pushback on Slot by the senior players. Salahs outburst forces the issue for better or worse...it may have been premature, I'd say Virg and Robbo would prefer to keep it in house but it is what it is. We're already on fire, and even though Mo is a big selfish petrol bomb on top and they're both harming the club I still have more sympathy for him than Slot
  18. Something has to give now Probably get a club statement backing Slot tomorrow...that would be sickening... I think Salah is taking a risk here, they'll probably back their man over the highest earning club legend about to leave for afcon
  19. Maybe it's not entirely his fault, but from what I can see this fella Slot is doing a bad job of managing Liverpool Football Club, and for that reason I'd like him to be replaced by someone who will do a better job
  20. Managers are always arguing for some perspective, some patience and understanding, but the game is not like that, fans aren't and owners aren't, that's why there's the likes of Ange and Mourinho still living off payouts from 3 clubs ago
  21. My Celtic mates say the same, and I'm all up for burning him at the stake, see if it changes anything ...but ultimately its on Slot isn't it
  22. I don't know if it would have that direct correlation, it's more that it would affect the players mental ability to react to setbacks and challenges, they don't have the same deep reserves they usually have to deal with these new situations because there's a form of collective ptsd going on I think it's all mental and that has to be Jota, top players don't suddenly and collectively collapse like this ... and Slot doesn’t seem to be able to bring them through it, possibly Klopp could have but who knows
  23. I think that's the most likely scenario
