Genuine question here. Say they fire him and go for an interim in lieu of Alonso or someone else in summer.. what are peoples genuine realistic candidates? Gerrard seems an obvious one cos he's managed in the Premier League, he's respected by players and loves the club. There are people, fans, who seem to think this would be a disaster...why?...and who else would you suggest? And I don't think a player, current or ex, Robbo/Virg/Milner etc who hasn't done their badges and has at least some experience in management is realistic

Its gonna get toxic now I don't even really blame Slot, he's doing his thing, presumably his best...and it's clearly not good enough and hasn't been for ages I blame the clever clogs who continue to back him despite the evidence of reality that we all can see - he's not able for this job Just please just let us all move on

Get Gerrard as caretaker til the end of the season, guarantee you we'd pick up more points than limping on with this guy

Yeah agree we're risk averse, too conservative We often see when we concede first goal the players instincts seem to kick in and we actually start playing with what looks like greater purpose, move the ball quicker, change gears In general it just looks to me like we're so one paced for too long periods of the game, until we're forced to react....we just don't dictate the pace like a top team should He can't or won't fix it, I want him gone asap

I doubt that...6 place and QFs is failure and even they couldn't sell that 5th place is the barest minimum they could work from if they're determined to give him another contract ....and majority of the fanbase would still be against it

Seems obvious that Edwards and Hughes are commited to keeping him in til the end of the season, but will they have a red line?...how close to mathematical danger of not making top 5 do they go before pulling the trigger?

He really has been recycling that bad bald meff line, maybe he should back pedal a bit and raliegh around the manager a bit more, but if you do feel strongly about it it's better that you spoke up

Gomez was solid but then Dom goes and has his least effective game in midfield all season

Ali staying up like that was mad and clearly a desperate attempt to make up for his mistake for the pen But the complete lack of control from the bench is a problem here, not subbing Jones on after the goal, allowing this terrified s***-the-bed mentality to fester ...and I'm not having Slots moan about Guehi red card, it's deflection ...there wasn't a particularly strong shout there, and it was way before we missed good chances and then took a lead we went on to capitulate

I don't get the Gerrard hate, what's he done bar having s***e taste in music and a few dodgy pals? yeah he's not the answer for next manager but he's perfect for an interim til summer.. are people afraid he'll do ok and there'll be a media clamour ro make him permanent?
