Well if Edwards is doing this right he's covertly getting signals from the agents of both Enrique and Alonso at the same time as communicating with fsg about Slot succession If the preference is Enrique and he's eager then it's a tightrope of how far we drift from 4th before pulling the trigger and getting an interim in to finish the season. If it's Alonso and he's ready to step in then it's week to week Personally I'd prefer Enriqe over Xabi, partly cos I think he's the bigger personality and would be able to handle it...I'm a little bit concerned that the romantic connection of Xabi to us might both cloud our assessment of him as a manager plus burden him with some extra undue pressure

Maybe we're holding out for Enrique in the summer rather than Xabi right now?

It's got away from Slot, he won't turn it around, the coaching decisions are his and they're mystifying to all He's probably better than this but the Liverpool job, after the perfect start, for whatever various reasons, has now got beyond his control. The players don't believe and the fans seem to be there now too

They're playing like they know the manager's gone, like they have an excuse We should all be put out of our respective miseries

Salah could still turn out to be the hero in all this

Ah that's awful news

I think they'd s*** the bed against us more than any other team. They're still fragile mentally despite everything going right for them in the league at the moment

Good, just let's hope their manager hasn't seen any of Slots pressers

This is it 100% The funny thing with Slot is he's almost trying too hard to hide his anxiety, it's coming off weird, particularly that "Alonso called me" bit Decent performance last night, an improvement, but Marseille offered very little in attack, they made a few ok chances and couldn't take them

Yeah, was there last summer and really liked it Had a look in one of the official OM shops, they had filthy PSG jerseys on the ground in the doorway as foot mats

I'm all in on the coaching being fundamentally wrong, all in on burning Van Bronckhorst,... I think it's just more and more obvious the players are at odds with the project they're tasked with But that is on Slot and he has to acknowledge it and change it ...or admit defeat and go I have sympathy for him because the mitigating circumstances are real, but we need to move on, it's not right to keep going like this, it's moribund

Wasn't Alonso supposed to be our no1 choice before he chose Madrid? Me too...and the one where he did his hammy celebrating Jotas winner v spurs

It's like we're playing dishonest football. Not even sure what I mean by that but it's just weird how they won't/can't do the basics of playing for eachother, moving up the gears, showing a bit of passion... there's a real lack of collective spirit of course it's never going to be at the levels it was under Klopp, but this just seems like every man for himself and they don't believe in themanagement

Yeah defo, was it an underhit pass? He's always in loads of space and never used

Quality from Eki and superb finish Flo

Pen

Anything good is coming from Kerkez

I reckon City are expecting to get away with a mere fine and a transfer ban, and they're stockpiling

fixed

FFS I came to this thread to get away from the choccie bar discourse

Not a backheel but I remember Robbie Keane tried to do a clever back leg touch finish one yard in front of an open goal and f***ed it up...the daft t***

Can see some confidence creeping back in, and with it solidarity and discipline. Slot should be stressing the positives of the 10 unbeaten run (despite some shaky performances) and the Arsenal game - one step at a time

I'd play MacAllister, and Wirtz.. for momentum and fitness Mama Ramsey Gomez Virg Robertson Nyoni Mac Jones Wirtz Chiesa Rio

Going in for Guehi solves this problem, Gomez is cover for both Konate and RB

Well fingers crossed Frimpong or Konate don't get injured cos I don't see Slot starting Ramsey in a game, it'll be Szoboszlai or maybe Jones, weakening the midfield
