Summer's coming!!

I just filled it in and was inventing excuses for not getting them all right. But I did. Kewell. Obviously not as drunk as I though.

Sad thing is, tabloid journalists in the main are incredibly intelligent people. The articles are very cleverly written. Whenever I pick up a tabloid, it scares me how cunningly the articles are written to shock/scare/appal/outrage the less cynical reader.

But Gerrard and Alonso have both looked better with Momo in the side. Assuming Xabi is a given in CM, we play much better when there's another CM to free up Gerrard from his defensive duties. I really like the bloke and can see his quality as a footballer. Just don't think he'll ever get used to the pace of the game, though. I'd keep Robbie and sell Moro in the summer. Robbie can do everything Moro can plus score goals. We'll still get a decent price for him in Spain.

That's a fairly normal way of doing business on the continent. The "manager" role is often much more limited at continental clubs that commonly have a sporting director. Indeed, in German der Trainer is the manager and der Manager is the director of football.

Knackered? Who knows. Perhaps they are chronically incapable of beating English sides. They only beat Bremen thanks to pink shirt-wearing Tim Wiese's showboating error. They looked just as clueless against Arsenal tonight as they did against us last season. Deserve to be out. Barca did the job. After the first leg, I half-expected Benfica to jam the tie with a cracking goal and Barca misfiring badly in front of goal. I expect and hope that Barca will beat Milan. Will be a great game, at any rate. Arsenal and Villareal is up in the air. I'm tempted to favour Arsenal, but that's because I don't really know Villareal. Don't really care who wins.

Of course it is. Simple probability. A hole in one is one freakishly good/lucky shot, a 180 is three pretty hard shots and a 147 is 45 (?) shots. I'm a very average darts player but I've thrown 180 once. EDIT: Didn't quite make my point. Top skill gets you lots of 180s. You need some skill and a lot of luck to get a hole in one. To get a 147, you need top, top skill and a fair bit of luck.

I guess Schalke is my local team. Things I dislike? Like most German sides, it seems (remember Leverkusen?), they always bung on the Quo when they score. Plus, I hate having to queue to load my Schalke chip card with money, then queue again for a beer and a third queue if I want some scran (which I also dislike).

He does get away with it, though. I share Scot's opinion. Great player in his day. Apparently, he's a right w@nker: tells trainees to fetch 10 footballs, then hoofs them as far as he can and tells the trainee to go fetch them. Presumably, Alan turned to football after his dreams of becoming school prefect faded.

I reckon he's off to Milan. They're hardly short of cash, so they must be getting something out of it other than silly money. That's likely Crespo, but could also include Gallas. I'm sure both he and the Milanese would be up for it.

Momo has been a revelation. I didn't understand all the fuss at first, but he's a cracking player. Essien always struck me as an inferior version of Gerrard.

Cisse will be on his way if we can shift him. He has shown few signs of improving. I think we should sell Moro, too, while we can still get something for him from a Spanish side. I fear another season like this one and he'll be worthless.

Baros will have a blinder in the summer. He scores loads in that Czech side. He'll be off somewhere good.

Indeed. We don't seem to be playing any differently to a few weeks ago, other than the differences made by being a few goals up. Hopefully, our strikers have indeed remembered how to score, but I think it's just one of those things. Still, I'm sure it has a very real effect on team confidence and that of our upcoming opponents.
