It's obvious lies, damn lies and statistics, however, they do seem to sit well with the anecdotal evidence of several retired referees.

That's true, but do you think the ref would have played on for so long if it was City who were looking most likely to get a winner. b******s he would. This thread is embarrassing. Unfortunately a lot of the complaints people have are genuine. The Premier League is not a level playing field with the winner being the best team over 38 matches. It's who's got the best team and who can exert the most pressure on the FA and officials.

What's most frustrating about this is that the media and those that work in it have it their hands to pressure the FA into standing up to them, but prefer to sensationalise any "controversy". It seems they're all in the dirty bed together.

Should be a good format. ie - get the leading journos from the nationals and get them to sit about and chew the fat, directed by Jimmy Hill. Excellent. Unfortunately for them (and us) it merely serves to show that the our press is written by and for vacuous idiots.

I could understand the ref letting them take the free kick (which didn't look like a free kick to me) - but then playing on whilst it was cleared, cleared again, and then letting another phase of play start is beyond a f***ing joke. I've never seen a referee play on like that for any other team. Especially in a derby where surely part of the referees remit should be to try and avoid controversy. An absolute disgrace.

I sometimes take a picture. but FFS, fans at the ground need to realise that their first job is support the team. That's what they've paid the "£34" to do. I've not been for about 3 years now. I must admit, one of the reasons I've not been is that whenever I can get a ticket, seeing as I don't go that often is that I'm surrounded by people who think they're watching it on the TV. So much so that videoing it on a phone is the next best thing. Aways are where it's at. Some of them are s*** too but at least no-one gives a s*** if your pissed or not wearing the latest shirt.
