  1. I'm not sure the loans "couldn't" be paid from operations in the future. That's what's attractive to the current potential investors. The problem is that the interest on loans is so astronomical it's effecting the clubs ability to generate larger future income to pay back the loans. The two t***s have just overleveraged it.

  3. I think it's called "Squick".
  4. What about Coady? Bit younger but isn't he U17 England Captain?
  5. fyds is f***ing dead skulls somewhere apparently.
  6. If it goes through it'll add a new dimension to players being treated like dogs.
  7. So Carragher has a dud season and sells more shirts? Who'd wanna wear Tevez on a shirt? I'd feel obliged to walk about with a bag on me head.
  8. Either that or Huang is offering £Xm to the board as the carrot, with the stick being that he's agreed in principle to buy the debt from RBS.
  9. Massive growth opportunity or not, regardless of who you are, everyone likes to think they're getting a good deal - Liverpool @ £400m+ with a new stadium, new players etc etc isn't as good a deal as City or Chelsea were. Not in the short term anyway.
  10. Yeah I agree we don't want "real business men" - but even Abramovic and Abu Dhabi bought cheap. Our problem is that in order to facilitate that sort of deal, you need owners with the clubs well being at heart, who see a cash rich buyer as a good thing for the club going forward rather than as an opportunity for extortion. You could see potential buyers playing hardball on price as a reaction to this rather than them not having enough cash. The waters are very muddy though regardless. You could see it either way.
  11. Could be true, or could be that whoever is behind the bid is just plain unwilling to pay more than £300m odd for the club, but is willing to go hook or by crook to get ownership. You don't get rich by saying "ah f*** it, just pay what they want to get the deal done". That's just not the mentality regardless of resources.
  12. I agree he's nobody's fool. He's also a bulls***ter who knows there are plenty of fools to go around. I don't trust a word he says. I only hope there's more cash in it for him to do the right things than there is to not - whichever way he'll dress whatever he does up as him having done the right things anyway.
  13. I've been suspicious of Broughton being in charge of the sale since he said it. It made absolutely no sense to me. Why would G&H agree to that? Surely the club belongs to them so any final say comes from them. The banks can't make them sell it. If the banks had in fact stipulated that the club must be sold as part of the refinancing of the loans, then surely the banks and G&H agreed on a minimum sale price OR an auction by a specific date - both scenarios would have been fought against tooth and nail by G&H. Otherwise how have they stipulated it? Sell it or we won't refinance again? That would just be b******s cos they'd end up refinancing anyway - if they we're going to go down that route they'd have forced a sale by now. So either there is a contractual minimum price or an auction end date, or Broughton is talking s***. It seems far more likely that Broughton is talking s*** for whatever reason than G&H have agreed to something which might result in them not making as much as possible out of any sale scenario. Broughton is just a layer of negotiation a potential buyer has to get through. That suits G&H who have better things to do than talk to people they wouldn't sell to anyway and suits the banks as it makes a sale more likely as real potential buyers don't have to talk to and get pissed off by those two c**** arguing amongst themselves. So if whoever is talking to RBS or Barcap or whoever it matters little unless they offer an amount which is enough for G&H to go for. I can't see G&H going for £300-£350m unless there in serious last chance saloons, which they don't think they're in yet.
  14. Young would be fine if our right back spot was as bare as left.
  15. Who are the left backs we're after then? I've not heard a sniff of anyone really. Figeroa? That's gone quiet. The Fucile and Jansen links were just made up by their agents weren't they?
  16. Are we playing Charlton?
  17. Nando isn't going to release a statement saying he's staying whilst he's negotiating amendments to his contract. That would be plain silly of him - regardless of his intentions. I'm sure emotionally he'd be happy to come out and say he's staying but his agent wouldn't be doing his job and Torres wouldn't be making the most of his career by putting our minds at ease. Putting our minds at ease is what the club wants to do to sell more shirts, more tickets, more crap and secure more advertising. Torres' agents job is to exploit the clubs desire to do this. Him with the WC with his LFC scarf was for the fans and should be enough for us to get on with.
  18. I see Joe Cole as significantly better than Yossi. That said, I never really rated Yossi, I always considered him a bit of a confidence player. Great on his day, pretty poor when not. That was before we signed him. Since, not only do I think I was right, but now I think when he's poor, he's really poor. Cole on the other hand seems either pretty much ok or really effective. Despite him being the unpredictable sort, he still seems to do the simple stuff well. I'm behind the Young signing. I remember being disappointed we weren't in for him when he left Charlton and when he went to Villa. Both times he was relatively cheap and better than we had. Both times he was significantly younger (forgive the pun) than he is now, which is the only downside for me - the price considering his age.
  19. Yup. I'd be shocked if this was our left back signing. Decent squad player though, if a little overpriced and a bit old.
  20. I like Masch. I'll miss him. Been getting used to him being gone for a while though now.
  21. WTF is that? Drenthe, Skrtle and Sturridge? What an odd selection of footballers to imitate.
  22. I'm just up to where he's been umbrella'd by Pricilla's mum outside his front door. I'm quite liking it. Good log cabin material.
  23. So you'd play a 21 year old, who last season, looked out of his depth most of the time, and have a 36 year old who only managed 10 or so appearances as cover? Bloody hell. Saying that. It's better than we've currently got.
  24. I thought Eduardo was starting to look the business until he bust his leg. Good movement, good technique, cool temperament. He does seem to have completely lost it since. Seems some of his awareness has gone towards worrying about being clattered rather than where the ball might go or where he should be at. Is Fucile actually being linked by anyone credible? I don't want Bridge.
