  1. I'd probably do a little wee in my pants if we signed Klose. I've been banging on about him for donkeys. Not sure he'd knit that well with Torres but he'd offer a hell of an alternative.
  2. I'm pretty sure that won't get added back in. Doesn't he take improved contracts out of the same pot too? And managers severance. It won't be long before he includes the tea and biscuits.
  3. That text, if it actually exists was from "one of the players". Doesn't mention if they're still at the club or not. Probably someone who got games under Ged and was shipped out early doors under Rafa.
  4. Well that's better then next summer. I still don't reckon he'll sign another contract with us. And there are a few clubs who think this too and are playing a waiting game.
  5. Yup. I've been saying I think Mascherano is running down his contract for ages. I think he's happy either to get a big transfer this summer or go on a free next year. I also think Barca know this. And Inter too.
  6. I'm concerned by this 10 business. I'm not sure why but I need some kind of resolution.
  7. except they do theirs live on the telly with wires and "machines that go bing". We've got an arl fella with a stethoscope You'd have thought they'd want to a least look at his knee with some kind of CAT / xray thing.
  8. I wonder how much interest the club has paid on his £88m.
  9. Whatever it was. There's a huge chunk of debt which is now on the club which resides in Moore's bank account.
  10. I did think that myself at the time. There's Moores writing a letter to the Times imploring G&H to piss off because of the debt they've brought. Whilst he's writing the letter, he's got £250m in the bank which was raised from this borrowing. It's as though he can't see the link between the two.
  11. I think we'll end up with something like this. I'd prefer a 433 though. Maxi, Kuyt, Jovanovic and Cole could all play wide on the three, Gerrard, Cole, Lucas, Aquilani could all play central. We'd need two CMs more though if Masch leaves. Another more defensive mid would be needed anyway.
  12. That's certainly how it looks to me. I only hope that our transfer plans don't rely on funds from this particular transfer or not as the case may be.
  13. I didn't like the bit about him thinking he'll get more time and space in the premiership than in div 1. It just looks that way Jonjo... because they're better players
  14. Yossi - Cole is deffo an upgrade.
  15. I'd like to sign Joe Cole for football reasons. I think we might sign Joe Cole for football reasons, but the bonus is that he'd be the sort of signing the press, fans, and our last men standing in the squad could fawn over. Coming with no transfer fee must be attractive to the money men. Especially money men that like to take the wages out of the transfer pot. Perfect fit in so many ways. He knows he'd have a good time being a Liverpool player and £90,000 a week isn't to be sniffed at by anyone is it? I'm not that keen on Bridge unless he's cheap enough to allow us something else. An added spice into any Chelsea game.
  16. About the only similarity between Alonso and Insua's transfers is that we haven't got an alternative already in the squad. Which is a really bad thing to have to have in common with a really bad transfer.
  17. Believe me, I'm not wetting the bed I've just seen what I've seen and have adjusted my expectations accordingly. It seems like some people prefer for whatever reason to ignore what they've seen and keep their expectations higher than I think they should. Up to them but I think they're kidding themselves.
  18. Remy is quite good on PES2010.
  19. Rushie wasn't our only forward and Insua's fee hasn't broken the British transfer record. At the time, the club wasn't up for sale and we weren't reducing the size of the squad to cut costs to cover interest on loans. Other than that I see the glaring similarities. And I remember quite intense criticism of the transfer along the lines of us not having sorted his replacement / who could be his replacement.
  20. So you actually believe that selling the only left back at the club is, from a footballing point of view, a good idea? And you expect a better replacement? Are you still expecting a replacement for Keane or Dossena or have you given up on them like the rest of us? What about the rest of "The Disappeared"? I do think we'll sign a left back. We have too. I wouldn't be at all surprised for them to cost less than £5m, be someone I've never heard of and be about as good as the wages we'll pay them to fill a hole for 6 months whilst the f*****s do their runner.
  21. Talk is fine. Selling them without first bringing in their replacement, when we don't have any alternatives at the club is plainly taking the p!ss.
  22. We can't have £5m back up left backs cos they're worth £5m and selling them has no immediate impact on the value of the club. We can have £70m forwards because selling them would wipe £untoldmillions off the value of the club.
  23. Absolutely spot on. Anyone who thinks any of the last 18 months (if not more) or so of top level decisions at the club have been made with football issues as being anything other than a consequence of these conditions are absolutely delusional.
  24. It only makes sense in the context of a firesale.
  25. No, I'm not talking b******s. And I'm not panicking. I saw it coming a mile off. We're owned by people who are trying to sell us and in the interim care nothing about anything other than maximising the money they can take out. Get used to it. Any signings will be the bare minimum they can get away with, outgoings will be the most they can get away with. To think anything else infers that the t***s that own us are f***ing philanthropists. On a positive note at least this current situation indicates we're nearing some kind of endgame as they must know that by the end of this coming season, their current tactics will have come to roost.
