Miereles looks like he might be a player. Maybe. Konchesky did "alright" considering. Certainly better than Insua. Brum are such scummy b******s. I should have a soft spot for them, my bird and all her family are Brum blues. But they are horrible aren't they? Fans that revel in Bowyer, Ferguson et al. Horrible b******s.
I don't think you'll find it hard. When you said "city" I got a bit worried for you, the City, ie Bank, London Bridge & Liverpool St, is dead on a Sunday,
Exactly - Babel is a very, very talented footballer. It's obvious that his best is very good indeed. We just need his not so best to be that much better.
McGrath became consistent through hours and hours of training and repetitive motion. Not because he was naturally inclined. He was naturally inclined to bowl quickly. The accuracy came through diligent practice, as it has / will for Finn. If you don't think Babel has enough natural talent to get benefit and greater consistency through training I think you're in a minority. Although I can understand it's much easier to say "he's crap".
Nah - b******s. You can't train or practice really good touch or a quick delivery in cricket. 99% of it is talent. You practice to make that talent more reliable. Those that don't practice enough or as much as the others need to be extraordinarily talented to succeed and by virtue of that aren't usually as consistent. Babel's problem is that he doesn't realise that being able to do something well 80% of the time is better than being able to something really well 20% of the time.
I wouldn't say he's got no touch or finesse. It's just that his touch is erratic. That to me says says it's more about application than talent. I can't see him being the type who stays behind after training for extras. I
That would have been tough titty for him then. Clubs weren't going to pay a fee for a keeper who they knew wanted to leave. I bet he got a juicy signing on fee though. To be honest - I don't hold it against him - but it being common knowledge he was so set on leaving didn't do anyone any favours except for Diego Cav.
I do think it's a bit disappointing we never got a fee. He should have been told he could only leave when we signed his replacement - and his fee would be spent on his replacement so keeping his lip buttoned about wanting to move on might be in his self interest.
No it didn't have enough quality to finish top 4. You're kidding yerself... the teams competing for top 4 are expanding and improving their squads year on year. Spurs' squad last year was better than ours. Our's was paper thin and ended up riddled with injuries. Theirs coped. We really did overachieve and over exert the season before and suffered for it last season.
No we're definitely not being asset stripped. Investment in the playing squad will be maintained and the cash to service the debt will come from somewhere else. I'm not sure where that is... erm, more debt? Oh year - erm... more debt.
Much better in the second half - but that wasn't hard. We looked much better when Kuyt came inside, Aurellio dropped deeper and Johnson overlapped more. Carragher might actually be getting into some sort of form - maybe. I've seen green shoots on the log.
