  1. He's having a great game, should be one of the top players in England. Loads of strength and ability, just doesn't appear to have the mind set to produce the goods on a consistent enough basis. All down to self belief IMO.

  3. Reply from the BBC tonight, re a complaint I sent in: "Thank you for your recent email regarding the Radio Five Live Review of the Year which is due to be broadcast on Christmas Day. We raised your concerns with Bob Shennan, the Controller of Five Live, who has responded as follows to your concerns: "We're sorry to hear of your objection to Kelvin MacKenzie's role as a presenter for this programme. While we fully recognise the strength of feeling that some people have against Kelvin, he has a great deal of experience in broadcasting and a keen eye for stories, which makes him well qualified to give his views on the news stories of the year. Kelvin MacKenzie will always arouse strong feelings from our audience - that's in his nature as a broadcaster and as a person - and clearly not everyone wants to hear what he has to say, but equally there are many others who appreciate hearing his opinions even when they don't agree with them. Many people have highlighted to us Kelvin's recent statement in which he said he wasn't sorry about the Sun newspaper's handling of the tragedy at Hillsborough, but such private comments are entirely his own and they are in no way endorsed by the BBC. We believe he is an appropriate choice as presenter for this particular programme' but your comments have been registered and will be taken into consideration." Bob Shennan Controller of Five Live Thank you, once more, for taking the time to contact the BBC. Regards BBC Information" so they are going to take my views into consideration and then ignore them then....... bit of a lengthier reply to the one I got when I last complained to them about that twunt.
  4. I think it's encouraging the way that DIC appear to be dealing with the proposed takeover. They seem to have gone out of their way to speak to all the key influencers at the club in order to minimise the impact change can have on the people at Liverpool and to sow the seeds of their vision of the future for LFC. Early signs of effective management IMO.

    Penalties

Based on his success rate then, I won't be asking him for any horse racing tips. For the record, Carra should be taking them, just needs to be trained to listen for the whistle
  6. The Gerrard and Alonso posters you can get are about 6'6" tall and the crest is approx 3' x 3' http://www.wallbangers.co.uk/catalog/ Got the crest last week - you get the big crest, a smaller version, a large vinyl sticker with Liverpool Football club on it and 2 small stickers saying You'll never walk alone. Just doing the attic out as a playroom for our 5 year old and they look good on a white wall. Not cheap though!
  7. I thought that ,according to Tom Cannon (?), Everton were further down the road to a new ground than us?
  8. signed and sent a copy to the press association.
  9. Buy me, Sheikh me anyway you want me as long as you love me that's alright.
  10. somebody should design one with little red liverbirds all over them, reckon they'll go down a storm.
  11. According to rumours etc Rafa refused to pay over the odds for Alves, so turned to his second choice, Pennant, and instead of paying over the odds for his first choice, he paid over the odds for his second choice. This will happen again regardless of how much money he has to play with. If he wants Torres and the price being asked is £25m and he walks away, the club he goes to for his second choice will "guess" he was prepared to spend let's say £20m for Torres. This will then influence the price they want for his second choice.
  12. Nolan for free instead of Zenden for free? (I think we rejected Nolan and he went through Bolton's youth system instead)
  13. Lennon for £1m instead of 6.75m for Pennant. (or can't I save money?)
  14. Thought it was ridiculous that he wasn't given the ball after he came on. He was in acres of space quite a few times and the ball was passed back into the middle instead of giving it to him. There was an ironic cheer on the Kop when he finally got to touch the ball. Thought Guthrie did more in the short time he was on than Pennant did the rest of the game. The way he runs reminds me of Steve Harkness for some reason.
  15. I'd put warnock in at LB and move Riise to LM with Kuyt over on the right. You could then have Bellamy (or Garcia) supporting Crouch. Kuyt doesn't appear to want to stay up front anyway.
  16. On a fishing expedition?
  17. Not very fair on the bears I feel.
  18. Think this is true, there is still a hang over from the bashing Liverpool got from Thatcher and the media in the 80's. Surprising how long it takes to change some people's perceptions.
  19. Rushie had a tache?

  21. He might not be first choice for much longer, but I wouldn't like us to lose Sami's experience for the rest of the season. Let him go in the summer when Agger's got more experience under his belt.
  22. and a good time was had by all.
  23. Woodgate Huth The ball boys
  24. Well it's only early days etc, but I actually think Cisse produced more than Pennant has at RM, and more than Bellamy as striker. Obviously the rest of the season will disprove this view........won't it?
  25. I suppose you could say the same for England beating a South African team, full of reserves, 23-21 today then. The opposition has to be factored in as well, and Middlesbrough's game plan appeared to be try and steal a point. I think Southgate will have been happier with the result than Rafa.
