  1. Is that why Rafa wanted us out of the cups asap?
  2. Don't think you can blame one player alone for tonight's result.
  3. On the way out of the game someone said it was 1914 when we last conceded 6 at home.
  4. Utd 96 Cup Final was far worse. Also saw a few dreadful games under Shanks at the end of the 60's. Strange thing is, we could have scored a few more goals tonight if we had had the rub of the green.
  5. How does it go again..... "Liverpool FC exists to win trophies...." is that it?
  6. It would have helped if Guthrie was played in his right position with Aurelio also plaing in his preferred position. It's one thing to rotate players, but to also play people out of position? Taking gambling to a whole new level IMO.
  7. Was on the kop and can't remember any booing at half time??
  8. He has got one?? We've got a right back called Steve Finnan When he plays we're always winning etc
  9. Thought Arsenal played a similar game to how we played under Houllier; sit back, soak up the pressure and try and catch us on the break. Arsenal played that game extremely well, and very rarely looked under pressure. Having said that I thought Gerrard could have been closer to Rosicky for the first two goals and got a tackle in, and Carra should have put the ball in the stand for their third.
  10. I thought Evertonians were from N Wales?
  11. couldn't think of any in the pub yesterday, my memory is obviously fading fast!
  12. There are quite a few players out there who are completely arrogant classless pr1cks who don't have the talent to back up their ego. Henry might come across as arrogant on the pitch at times, but he does have the ability and end product to justify it.
  13. Have any of our players scored a hat trick since Rafa arrived?
  14. pathetic. I can remember the days when the Kop applauded if the other team scored a great goal at Anfield. There were quite a few applauding Arsenal's first goal yesterday, it's one reason why we are "supposed" to be the most knowledgeable fans in the land.
  15. will they go with "LFC KOP DICS" when it goes through though?
  16. surely; RAFA KOPS £30M HENRY Thought it was journo lore that Kop formed part of every headline re LFC?
  17. He chokes in the big games as well.
  18. Very true. In the 70's and 80's you would turn up for most games not to see a contest but to see how many we would score.
  19. I've got one of the red justice scarves which I take to every game. I took my son in the main stand for the Watford game (I'm usually on the Kop) and I was surprised at how few scarves there were in the Kop for YNWA etc. Why have a scarf and only take it for the big games? Isn't that a bit like "I only sing at the big games?"
  20. He had a great game tonight, which makes it all the more puzzling we were linked with the keeper in Italy as Scot has extended his contract with us.
  21. Didn't we play our toughest games when Momo was fit, ie Utd/Chelsea/Arsenal away etc? Quality of opposition also dictates the outcome of who plays where.
  22. Presume you can download this programme from their website Anny? Hope the Radio 5 bosses listened to it and reflected on their appoiuntment of that c*** Mckenzie. RIP 96

    I wish

The thing I find hardest to get my head round is the way Rafa seems to keep dropping the striker who is scoring goals. For example Crouch was on fire at the beginning of the season, but Rafa dropped him as soon as Kuyt was fit. I can understand the logic of rotating players to try and maintain peak fitness etc, but there is also the pyschological boost that being on a scoring run brings to fitness levels. It's also a tough hurdle to overcome knowing that no matter how well you play that you will probably not keep the shirt for the next game. To counter this he insisted on playing Morientes last season for long spells despite not scoring, and appears to be doing the same with Kuyt to a degree in the last month or so. Strikers putting the ball in the net doesn't appear to be the deciding factor for Rafa for his starting line up.
  24. tbf, there were quite a few of the games where we could have dropped points because we didn't finish our chances - Charlton probably being the best example. Having said that we've done well recently, but I don't think Utd or Chelsea would have lost today. Yes we were the "best side" again today, but once again we couldn't put away the chances when it really mattered.
  25. Utd have 2 stikers that cost in the region of £45 million, as have Chelsea. Our two cost approx £15 million, therein lies the problem I think.
