He got it spot on with the penalty and the sending off. Thought he bottled a few decisions after that; Bowyer going flying was a clear dive from half a mile away and should have been a second yellow for him.

I'm not bothered about it at all; but it surprise me massively when Lampard reacted the way he did. Compare and contrast the reastion of Terry to Lampard. Lampard only concerned with kissing Ronnys butt and getting his shirt; Terry gutted, looking detroyed because his team are out of EUrope for yet another year. Anyone have a picture of Terrys response to compare and contrast with Fat Franks ?

Didn't need to hear any more than the opening statement : Interviewer : So Jose did the best team win ? Maureen : No. Just made himself sound ungracious, pathetic and stupid after Barca battered them and played scintillating football for most of the match.

Its not valid just to throw around facts about how much money Rafa has spent on players, without putting it into context. I reckon a lot of folk still have their heads in the sand about what a poor state the club was in when Rafa arrived. It wasn't just a few players short of being back to our best, we were well on the way to being permanently consigned to being outside of the top clubs, and our finances weren't in top shape. The cynic in me believes the CL win and the cash because of it made Moores and Parry reconsider their standing on investment; now Moores would appear to be happy to try to struggle through with more miracles from Rafa, so he can retain everything he has now ie overall control of the club. We dont know much about Moores ability as LFC, but it is a fact that every other business he has set up has ended up in financial ruin, do to his incometence at that level. This isn't a sack Parry or sack Moores rant; just an honest statement of my personal beliefs about what is happening. I dont want either of them sacked AS LONG AS Rafa gets everything he believes he needs and as long as Parry performs as well as Benitez believes he should. As a person I like and respect Moores, but as an LFC fan if theres decisions he needs to make in the interest of LFC rather than himself then he better make them. Above everything, of course, we want Rafa to stay - no matter the cost. He is irreplaceable.

I have a sneaky suspicion Gerrard will be on the bench
Flight replied to Bootle Buck's topic in Liverpool FC
Made up for Crouchihno and Cole had a blinder, but aside from that I thought the match was crap. SGE is useless tactically. -
Fantastic news for the lad; I'm absolutely made up for him. Best wishes for s speedy recovery Momo. YNWA

Couldn't agree more and its been on my mind a lot. We've got 15-22 games left to play in the next two months, one game every 3-4 days and the some of the lads are already knackered. We're risking serious injury. Horrible thought, but with our squad it wouldn't be all bad news to get knocked out of both cups, so we could concentrate on second place. Second place is absolutely vital for the extra time it will give us next pre season, what with it being a WC year.

To be fair Parry did try to phone him to finalise the deal, but he couldn't get his mobie out of his a*** in time and missed the call.

Riise played pretty well yesterday, but he still struggles defensively when quality opposition target him. The thing that worried me yesterday, was his positioning - he was as bad as SW. We were very lucky with the offsides, every single time he was a yard behind the perfect straight line of Finnan, Carra and Hyypia. So well done overall JAR, but I think Rafa will be having a word.

Cannot understand why the pc brigade are out in force
Flight replied to Kvarme Ate My Food 's topic in Liverpool FC
The bloke from the Sunday People was on Chinny Hill's programme this morning. He was talking about the Riise chant; he said the mancs haven't got a leg to stand on (my pun, not his) because they had been chanting the whole game far worse things (Murderers etc). Everyone in the press box would have heard it but he is the only one I;ve heard or read mention it. -
Theres a rumour going around the internet thats theres a chance they may have to amputate, but it sounds like rubbish. Smiths agent has said : "I think Alan just wants to say that the treatment from Liverpool and all the Manchester United staff has been fantastic," Alex Black told the BBC. "He was aware of what was going on to a certain degree and he just wanted to say thank you to everybody for that." He also told Sky Sports News: "He was a little bit delirious as he was coming off but he was able to recognise that not just the Manchester United fans but a lot of the Liverpool fans were giving him a good round of applause. I started having concerns about his passing game around Christmas time, but he is obviously working hard on that and is a quick learner. Absolutely immense

Popped their heads over the fence for the first time since Istanbul, after a lucky goal from coke-head when we battered them. Now missing in action again after another battering. I guess its down to the fact that they were absolutely shoite in every department yesterday - totally dominated from start to finish. Their only solace to say something like, the injury to Smith is far more important, so we dont mind losing. Come on lads, you never did say it - it won't hurt much. Say after me, 'Congratulations on being the Champions of Europe!'

ANOTHER Season For utd Without A Major Trophy!
Flight replied to a topic in General Football Discussion
Horse Face was asked on the telly yesterday about only winning two trophies in his 5 years with United. He didn't give the sort of response that made me think he would stick around for the same in the next 5 years. -
I couldn't help thinking about what someone posted on here the other day - that Neville always does the same thing himself to someone else in the first few minutes, as its unlikely to get a yellow so early on. Think Harry read it too
-
He only went on the pitch to whisper, 'Inbred c***', to Neville.

Anyone with any medical knowledge know, can a dislocated ankle be career threatening (ie is there danger of it going again in the future now its happened once) ?
-
Happy Birthday, you ugly c*** . Smith has a broken leg and dislocated ankle. Well played the lads that clapped him off.

Easy words to say, but its the hardest part of the team to get right. Don't forget this isn't a new thing - they've been trying to buy players for those positions for 7 or 8 years and repeatedly failed. They also need replacements for Giggs and a top keeper. Then Neville can't have many years left. They remind me massively of us in the early nineties. Still considering ourselves far and away the biggest team, playing some of our key players just a year too long, not buying well in some key positions - on the slide and kidding ourselves. Bottom line is all their player purchases over the next couple of years have got to be spot on. And the interesting thing is Arsenal need key players in all the same positions.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Stevie play in the middle against the Mancs with Hamann, resting Alonso - or possibly with Momo in the middle and Stevie still RW. Then Alonso and Momo in the middle against Benfica, as they know them and possibly even rest Stevie.

In his autobiographies it talks about his approach to substitutions. He nearly always has them planned ahead of the match.

I wonder if Howard has ever shouted 'Whisky nosed c***,' during a half time b******ing.
