That day mate they had Scholes and Keane in the centre of the park, Heinze at LB and Ronaldo on the wing. I'm not saying they are poor and I'm not underestimating them, but I will say for a long time when Scholes has played they have looked good, when he hasn't they have looked ordinary.

Same here; also Kenyon staying in the England hotel while our players are being tapped up WTF was that all about. Things have changed at England get togethers over the last few years; team divides have been broken down. Used to be the players would just hang out with their team mates; now it just seems wrong when you get Manc players being chummy with and talking highly about our players and visa versa. As an aside, yeah I'd love to see Stevie go in hard on Fat Frank the way he does usually.

Riise has played in the Prem 7 times at LB. Until yesterday that was against W.Ham, Villa, S'Land, Boro, N'castle and W. Brom who offer very little down that wing. I dont understand how anyone can be calling him the best in the country or in Europe when he has only played there against such poor opposition. Yesterday he worked hard and played well in the first half. Start of the second half they targetted him and he struggled big time and made a big mistake from which Keane should have scored. He had a very dodgy time from then until we scored. Warnock has played in more shut outs in the Prem than Riise and against tougher opposition. Better defensively for me but struggles with his positioning. Traore I've always stuck up for more than most, but he has been poor this term. Djimi's three games this term have been the 4-1 Chelsea game, the 2-0 Fulham game and the 2-2 Bolton game. Thats 8 of the eleven goals we have conceded in his 3 games. I agree we need a new LB who can play every game. Lets hope I'm proved wrong in the next month.

It was Eriksson totally who brought up the idea of buying Villa. What he did next was wrong. He started discussing all the players who he said he could get to go to play anywhere. He said Beckham would come and play for him anywhere. He talked about aspects of Wayne Rooneys personal life and his upbringing. He told them personal things Michael Owen had told him, like he hates being at Newcastle but has never been on so much money in his life so would find it difficult to leave. I dont give a s*** about most of it, but the last points underline the power he has in influencing players to move clubs and harks back to the Chelski tappings up of Stevie and others and MO leaving LFC.
