WTF is this thread in the LFC forum. Just seeing it gives me tourettes.
-
Gerrard for me. Back to his best.
-
Good post that. The trouble is it seems Cisse doesn't have much football intelligence so isn't able to quickly pick up what Rafa and his staff are trying to teach him.

That says richest club, not biggest income. Mind you I was taking that from this mornings papers, which said Beckham had helped them to overtake Man U in terms of income this year, so it could be wrong if the papers are talking rubbish. Still a 20% fall in income and undoubtedly a further fall this year is nothing to sneeze at. But, at the end of the day its trophies that count isn't it...... We are the Champions, Champions of.......
-
Actually, your profits are falling massively, year on year. Real Madrid have overtaken you. They will fall again this year, especially with you going out of Europe so early. How this will affect the Glaziers financial predictions is anyones guess, but better start saving up extra for your season tickets.

I'll open by saying I think coming second is not just a 'nice to get one over the Mancs' thing; its absolutely huge. The extra time to prepare the team for next season, especially given its a World Cup year, would be a big benefit. OUR REMAINING FIXTURES Arsenal 14/02 H Man City 26/02 H Charlton 04/03 H Arsenal 12/03 A N'castle 19/03 A Everton 25/03 H W Brom 01/04 A Bolton 09/04 H Blackburn 15/04 A Fulham 17/04 H W Ham 22/04 A A Villa 07/05 H P'mouth 07/05 A 1. The Mancs don't play again the Prem until two days after our next three games (06/03 - away to Wigan). They still have to play Arsenal, the Chavs and Tottenham. 2. Arsenal are seven points behind, with the same number of games remaining. But, they still have to play Tottenham and well as the Mancs away, on top of the two games against us. Also, seven of their remaining fixtures are away. 3. Tottenham are 3 points behind having played one more game. They have the worst remaining fixtures, on paper. They still have to play the Chavs, plus their last four games are Mancs, Arsenal, Bolton and West Ham. 4. Bolton are 9 points behind with one game in hand. They still have to play the Mancs, LFC, the Chavs and Tottenham. Theres everything to play for, but the next four games really are massive. Come on you Red Men, lets make second place ours.

What a load of old b******s. Weakest team in the CL and you came bottom of it. Bottom !!!!!!! Its easy to say - we just need a couple of midfielders - but the truth is you need a whole new midfield. You've been trying to buy them for years and years, so while it is easy to say - we just need - the actuality is its the most difficult part of the team to get right. You need at least two top central midfielders, a replacement for Giggs, and you're still looking for a top long term keeper. The funny thing is all of that is pretty much what Arsenal need as well. And you're not top dogs any more with the Russian pimp about. Now all you Mancs who went missing for the last six months, feel free to say, Congratulations on becoming Champions of Europe. Go on, it wont hurt much
-
Managed to get it hosted so people don't need to download it : WTF are all the Mancs re-appearing from ? One lucky goal from cokehead and you think you have better medium to long term prospects than us. Still I guess you need somewhere to post on those long, lonely European nights eh

I was made up with Robbie's performance yesterday. And, I may have been imagining it but he is looking a little trimmer already. Watched it over a couple of times last night and Morientes was miles offside and clearly cost Fowler a goal - no way he should have carried on running. Also remember thinking, about two-thirds of the way through the game, how much harder than anyone else Stevie G was working. Constantly reminded how much we need more RW options so we can bring him back into the middle, from the off. Maybe its just me, but I'm thinking Momo needs to do a little more work on what he does with the ball once he has won it. Some of the pitches we have played on recently have been atrocious, but yesterdays was probably the worst; must have been like playing on sand. Plenty of times in the 70's and 80's our best sides ground out results in a similar fashion. Lets just celebrate the result, the 3 points and a good team effort instead of looking for something to whinge about eh ? (cept Cisse, he's still fair game ).

1. Hamann 2. Dudek 3. Fowler

Which back four do you mean ? Warnock has actually played in more clean sheets than Riise. Riise's have all been against poor opposition at home.
-
I agree, Riise is probably our best option at LB. But I also think he hasn't proved to be good enough to be our long term solution to that position. I don't understand how people can say he is the best LB in the league, when Rafa has only played him at LB a half dozen times, only at home and only against very poor opposition. The test for me was always going to be this run of harder games. I watched the Manc game a couple of times over to see how Riise did. First half Riise was cracking and I specifically thought to myself, Rushian is right, I'm wrong. But then the first 25 minutes of the second half the Mancs targetted him and he had a nightmare - could easily have cost us a couple of goals. He simply wasn't good enough when under pressure from quality opposition. I do agree that he is prolly the best at the club at the moment, on current form and that a good run would prove whether he can make it his own or not. That Zenden injury has really cost us.
-
I was just listing the Prem games, Kev, which have been a disaster. Most of the games you have listed aren't Prem. He's only played 4 Prem games. (Sorry missed the B'burn game). Brum 2-2 Chavs 1-4 Fulham 0-2 Bolton 2-2 Until yesterday his 4 games we had conceded 10 out of the 13 goals we have conceded in 22 games.
-
Now that I agree with totally. We need someone playing LB in most/all games the way Finnan covers RB. Not Rafas fault though, I don't think. We just don't have the squad that we need, yet.
-
He's only played there a half dozen times though mate and only against weak times and only at home. Got to think that if he was good enough Rafa would have played him more, against tougher opposition and away. Warnock has played in more clean sheets than Riise, but he obviously isn't the long term solution either.
-
I've stuck up for Djimi more than anyone for the last four years Kev and I agree with most of what you are saying. His only three outings this term, though, have been our three worst game. Bottom line is we don't have a LB at the club who is good enough, which a few of us have been saying for a while.
-
I agree with you mate and I've been saying it for a long time. LB, RM and 2 strikers needed 9hopefully Robbie will be one), as was obvious from last nights game. Bottom line, we deserved nothing out of the game because we couldn't score and we messed up defensively.
-
Agree with all your points, but we CANNOT settle for third place. We absolutely need second place to get automatic CL qualification. After the World Cup, the extra time will make a big difference next term. I still think we will finish second; we have a great run in for the last six weeks.
-
Can you check for me and see if the player is ok at the hospital. He went down so badly he is really worried he must be badly injured
-
Don't agree he let his head drop at all. He was given a job to do and he stuck to it and worked his a*** off. Unfortunately, this meant he was sometimes isolated on the right. Bottom line, we need more options for right midfield, so we can free Stevie up for the middle. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, we need a LB, a RM and 2 goal scoring forwards. The way Robbie has been working so hard on his fitness, maybe he can be one of the forwards for a few years. All the other top teams have spent big on their forwards; we haven't (not succesfully anyways, we forked out for one but he spends more time on his hair than his football, apparently). If only Rafa had the money we spent on Diouf, Cisse et al. We played great football today. But, if we can't score we don't deserve the points.

Rushie you barsteward. It was shaving off the magic tash that did it.
-
Sorry mate, Cisse was never that good.
-
I'd dismiss it until the summer, unless there something in the Defoe in Liverpool stuff
-
Yeah you're right, I apologise. Was going off the top of my head, which is banging. Mori didn't start the next game at Portsmouth, but he came on for Garcia after 20 mins and got a goal.
