Yep... I really rate him and think at a top club he'd make the step up and be spot on. The left footed Steve Finnan if you like!! I don't rate Riise, and I know Barry has played midfield recently (and that the last time we bought a midfielder for left back in Ziege it went wrong) but I think he's solid enough at the back, comfortable on the ball, has a good shot & cross, is composed and has something about him. I reckon he's a rough enough diamond for Rafa to get an extra 20% out of him given the chance. Rather Barry than Baines!!

I kind of agree, but for every Rooney there's a Le Tallec... The standard of reserve team football is so poor these days that it can really affect thier progress. Rooney was a full international who had played in a major tournament when the Mancs got him, and he'd plyed his trade at a lower level with a small club before that!! Season long loans are the future I think. It works well on other countries, and enables young player to get regular, competative football until they are ready to make the step up. I think the system they have in Spain works well with the B teams... though I'd hate Liverpool B to replace the seperate entity that is the likes of Rochdale/Tranmere/Accrington etc etc. I cannot see a long term future in this country without feeder clubs in this country which would act as an unofficial B team.

Seen quite a bit of him, living in Derby, and all my mates have Season Tickets so I've heard even more about the lad... When there was all the fuss about Huddlestone I said back then that he's too immobile, slow and needs too much time on the ball to have an impact in the Premiership - I can't believe he's a regular starter at Spurs to be honest - but Barnes is a real talent. From what I've see he's not ready for the Premiership yet as he's too inconsistent and anonymous in too many games. He's actually been dropped/rested for many of Derby's recent games and Billy Davies himself says he's got a lot to learn. He'll deffo be in the Premiership one day, and probably at a top-6 club, but he's not ready yet!!

Yes, he had a 'mare today. But you can count on one hand tge number of poor games he has had since he joined on one hand. He'll be the best defensive midfielder in the world in 3/4 years - FACT!!

The whole RTK idea seems to be getting quite a bit of criticism, but the way I see it is that it's just trying to highlight the things that make The Kop special, trying to get away from the crap that dilutes The Kop. Much has been written about the atmosphere not being like it was - at least those involved with RTK have got of thier arses and decided to pro-actively do something about it!!
