  1. I think the theory (more than the reality) is that he could do a similar job to the spurs dembele. I think his development has been harmed by lack of football
  2. I've seen this sort of comment quite a lot (not picking you up on it, just using it as a chance to comment) and i'm not sure how this version of VAR is transferrable. FWIW i do think its generally worked well. The VAR panel at the world cup is X number of qualified refs looking on from afar at all camera angles. There is at most 2 games at a time, mostly its only one match. FIFA also had all the referees in the world to choose from. Compare to PL where its maybe up to 6 matches happening simultaneously and there is a limited pool of referees. How can this model of VAR be resourced by the PL?
  3. Ramos is a c***. Theres a difference between the pulling shirts/pushing so players are off balance type of dark arts and that. The way he rolled onto the arm was so deliberate to try to injure him. c***
  4. I know - i was at matches when he broke through, i still remember the game when he scored his first hattrick for us. I was thinking where he would fit into this current Klopp side and don't think he would be able to at all. He also wouldn't fit with the current systems of the other top sides. Its just the way the game has gone I take the 'find a way' point - but someone would have to set up the team around him and go 2 up front He never had the ball skills of a fowler, who i think had a more rounded game and would find a way to get into modern teams
  5. I don't - wouldn't have the footwork or ball skills for it. I'd say he'd do a similar role to vardy at a similar level. As good as he was when he first broke through i just don't see him getting into the team at a top club
  6. The output of the other 3 would reduce in order to service a more static central point. You'd lose a lot of fluidity
  7. The full version is even better - he goes on to praise Rhian Brewster for the stand he took and the support he was given
  8. Would explain the reports of him being sidelined - if you know hes going you wouldn't involve him in planning for next season.
  9. Different competitions and one was for national team
  10. This content is not viewable to guests.
  11. No. He's a line keeper and not that good
  12. The bleating about the salah goal in the first leg is ridiculous as well. He was on the halfway line and they had plenty of time to deal with it, but messed up defensively.
  13. No. Sterling got booked a few mins later for a foul on (i think) gini
  14. Absolutely magnificent tonight
  15. One of the recent matches the stats showed he was fastest on the pitch
  16. I think types of injury make a difference - you can play through dead legs, bruised foot, swollen ankle type things. You can't really play through muscle injuries, particularly in your legs - and sturridge is in that latter category. Remember his uncle struggling with exactly the same problems so you do wonder if he is just prone to muscle injuries and there is not a lot he can do about it
  17. Hope that is the last time he starts in a Liverpool shirt
  18. I reckon barca look at him at the point suarez gets replaced. Hopefully they look elsewhere!
  19. Conte describing him as very young. Isn't he 24/25 now?
  20. Magnificent game from him tonight
  21. He seems to lack any sense of urgency
  22. Feels like further attempts to unsettle so that we just agree to sell in the summer to end the speculation
  23. Pulis, surely
  24. Looked like he was playing wide rather than full back, but good goals
