Anyone wonder if kenny having a word a week or two ago has just heightened sensitivity of refs to making sure they don't give bad uns against us...last week and this we've had the better of things... Don't think it means they favour us, just the seed of doubt in the background... Chewie

Woh...slow..and luis didn't miss a few? But one is a cult hero and the other is a scapegoat... Win as a team, lose as a team...some days it works, others it doesn't. Poor reffing and some bad play cost us... Chewie

its really hard to believe that any editor of any sports communication of any description would allow anyone to come out with this in their publication CRAIG BELLAMY going back to Liverpool shocked me....then People say never go back to your old club. Usually I agree with them. But I can see it being effective. They are a big club, they are moving forward. He needs to play football, and he’s not going to get it at Liverpool. He’s going to get frustrated. In two or three months’ time I can see it all ending in tears. followed by... He won’t let anybody down, and he will always be fighting 100 per cent for that club. as well as The risk is all the manager’s with the warning that... Because of Dalglish’s status at Liverpool, it’s going to be harder for the Welshman to rock the boat. If he does, he will be finished with the fans. I hesitate to sign off on this one in case Merson thinks my name is smoothie... but here goes Chewie

ah... but the genius of Kenny and Comolli is buying a CB who is sooo tall that Andy looks like a wee lad up front... pass n move boys, pass n move... Chewie

they really do make a lovely couple Chewie

From the first day their mantra has been 'under promise, over deliver...' understated and yet fiercely committed to winning... So all that stuff about being years behind and not thinking about league titles...perfect.. Chewie

Of course this weeks beating of arsenal will be entirely down to the brilliance of the victors...whereas last weeks defeat was basically down to a weakened team... Chewie

Yup...same for me...the way he strokes the ball around reminds me of Beckham..have thought this for the last few weeks. Has a pass in him too and had an extra intensity today.. feet on the ground but let's hope he keeps growing in confidence and influence.. Chewie

Suarez Lucas...absolutely immense Kuyt...should never be played in midfield again Chewie

Jordan Henderson - does Kenny intend to play him on the right all the time?
Chewie replied to Iver's topic in Liverpool FC
I think he played quite well and had a big part in the first two goals. I agree though that right now he looks timid. I hope kenny tells him to never accept he is in the wrong ever again, especially when the decision was marginal. I remember watching the game and hearing his name a lot on the ball. He constantly finds his man, has a good touch and looks at times as if he just needs to believe on himself. We've been here before with players and booing a lad who is 20 after 3 games when we've had two wins and a draw is just plain nuts... Chewie -
That's back to back away victories, 5 away goals, playing possession game, more experience for new additions, more experience for young players, use of squad to keep others integrated, first win at emirates in years, professional job away at lower league club, hold on a minute...forgot I was meant to whine n moan at the current scapegoats..ah well, back to being miserable about Liverpool football club..if only hicks, purslow and Woy were still here... Suarez Maxi Henderson (like him...pass n move) Chewie

Dr. Samuel Johnson: Olson Johnson is right. What kind of people are we anyhow? I say we stay and fight it out! Howard Johnson: Dr. Samuel Johnson's right about Olson Johnson being right. And I'm not giving up my ice cream parlor, that I built with these two hands, for nothing or nobody. [murmuring] Sam Johnson: Howard Johnson is right! Van Johnson: Right! Howard Johnson: Thank you, Van. Chewie

When do I read the match report that highlights the following... 1. Liverpool started with three young players - Kelly, Carroll, Henderson 2. Liverpool were without Gerrard and, for most of the game, Suarez 3. Liverpool are still bedding in 4-5 new players 4. Arsenal still had a strong panel of players on the pitch from KO 5. This is the same Arsenal who have been treating the league cup with disdain plotting a new era of domination with Arsene's kids who are now no longer at the club at their time of crisis because the grand master plan has been exposed as a load of tosh 6. Liverpool dominated possession 7. In a short space of time the management of Liverpool have taken swift and incisive changes to the playing staff to enable them to have strength in depth when last May against Arsenal they were left 'playing the kids'... (in a game the kids didn't lose...) Part of me is seething that every reflection, article, journo seems to be dismissing or relativising our victory on the basis of where Arsenal are at... well, tough on them. We looked like they do only 5 months ago and we've done something about it and are starting to show progress in what is only our second game of the season. Credit where credit's due... then another part of me thinks, stuff em... let's stay under the radar and being dismissed by all and sundry whilst we gather a head of steam... Chewie

I'd agree with that... Chewie

Reckon that both Flanagan and Robinson did a job very well in a short burst last season during a period when we had developed a bit of momentum under the king. They both showed good signs and looked composed. Many players at that age look as if they might have something but then they fade or don't get a chance or drift into lower teams.. At present both Kelly and Johnson are ahead at RB and Enrique and aurelio at LB and that's the way it should be. If Flanagan and robinson don't make it we're well covered for the next 3-5 seasons and that's really all that matters, harsh as it may seem. Chewie

Mmm...that depleted arsenal side will prob still challenge for between 4th and 6th meaning that we can play against inferior teams to arsenal for between 26-30 games this season. If we can add a bit of intensity that should come with fitness, form and confidence we'll do alright... (which I reckon your post agrees with btw) Chewie
