It's almost* always a problem when you start compensating and compromising as a team around your star player's waning powers rather than building everything through their peak powers. *Messi at the world cup probably the biggest exception but I'd argue tournament football is very different. The discipline to stick to the simplicity of Paisleys wisdom is tough, but should be non negotiable - let their legs go on somebody else's watch. This is likely to be an unseemly end to Salahs career with us. Walking away at the end of May with the league, golden boot and sweeping the player of the year prizes is how I'm going to remember Mo's proper last season.

We've spent over 300 million on these lads. Wirtz is not going to play in a midfield 3. Semenyo is a Salah replacement for a team not built around the role Salah occupies. so, given the summer we've had, if we go for Semenyo I'm not sure what direction we're heading in...
