  1. They're throwing everything into the box and we're bringing on midgets
  2. He's finding out just how quick everything is.. In 10 games he'll be like neo in the matrix
  3. That's a sports science call.. They don't reckon he's up to 90 minutes yet fitness wise
  4. He did brilliantly but just didn't get the quick release right
  5. Totally... This was always going to be manic but around 30 minutes we started to take control and they've lost their heads.
  6. Agent Gordon Well done virgil for sitting down after first getting up
  7. What will that be good for huh?
  8. I'm not sure it has. They've got a new GK, that Thiaw lad for centre half, Ramsey for midfield, Elanga as a wide forward, and if they get Wissa, for example, they'd have a lad who scored one less than Isak last season. If we give them 130 for Isak we'll have covered about 80% of their spend on 5 players, given them real PSR headroom, and they can go again in next Jan and July with more wiggle room on transfers whilst incrementally increasing wages (which they've not caved into under pressure by Isak.. Meaning they can set the pace of growth) This deal gets done because it makes massive sense for them and we're prepared to pay for the lad we want
  9. Me. Me! Pick me!
  10. If Strand Larsen happens then the numbers point to an Isak deal getting done as that's their net spend pushing 170-180m euro and I reckon they would still look to Wissa at another 45-50m
  11. But do it alphanumerically where 1=a, 2=b, 3=c and so on
  12. Aye.. But he's a good player who plays well against us and we've now got him twice in three games.. twice.TWICE!
  13. Transfermarkt have Newcastle with a net spend of 115m euro before any deal to get Wissa (which will be min 50m euro) Ramsdale, Thiaw, Ramsey, Elanga.. Prob all starters or capable of starting on rotation. Add in Wissa and pretty quietly that's a GK, centre half, midfielder, winger and forward.. IF they did then add another forward for 70-80m and sell Isak for a total of 150m euro that'd be the spine of the team upgraded for 85-100m euro. They're gonna be in a situation where they absolutely must sign one forward even if they keep Isak as they'll know his fitness and motivation can't be relied on.. Which will be a minimum net spend of 165m euro. Ignoring the 'noise' the 'signal' is a net spend of 165-240m euro and a pretty decent body of work in the transfer window, but one that will need financing and the best way to do that is through the sale of Isak. The noise suggests emotions are high and no deal will happen on principle. The numbers are signalling that a deal is there to be done.
  14. Have we just never been interested in Èze?
  15. Agree with this. But also agree with some of the replies on X that this seems like a dispute between Isak and Newcastle and we've got caught in the middle of it by putting a bid in for the player. I'd rather we didn't get caught up in their internal mess
  16. Mmmm.... Not sure at all that this is good. If, as some have mused, this is all being stage managed and behind the scenes common sense is prevailing that will see the deal get done, then none of this is needed. The subtext of this to my mind says we are very far from getting this over the line
  17. The BBC report on this highlights how we've sold players for 85 million this summer with a combined cost to us of 650k. (Doak the only player that cost us anything out of him, Trent, Phillips, Morton, Kelleher, Quansah) Basically all total profit and creating major PSR headroom.
  18. Ha ha.. If only there was an actual thread fully detailing this that I could have asked the question in rather than the transfer thread
  19. @Gethinto the thread.. If we do get Isak and guehi how does that leave us with homegrown etc for both PL and CL? Non HG Ali, Virg, Konate, Robbo, Kerkez, marmadashvilli, new no. 3 Gk Grav, Endo, Mac, Dom, Wirtz Mo, ekitike, Isak, Gakpo, Chiesa Is that the 17 or have I missed anyone? This presumes kostas goes. (seems a waste to not have a HG 3rd goalie)
  20. 100%..its been totally clear that we're not ready and the toll on the squad by grief has impacted physically. Last night was cathartic I reckon
