Ah, apologies for the dodgy sourcing. Poor Rafa up at Newcastle. I can see how we went there and the fans love him but working for Ashley must be so depressing. Even from a business point of view it looks short sighted cos if they get relegated it will cost him a fortune in terms of the value of the club as an asset. My theory on Ashley is that for him it's turned into a sort of game to see how cheaply he can run the club to show what a clever businessman he is.
That's a mad fee. Although we paid a huge fee, we're getting a major upgrade in the keeper position. Chelsea instead are paying more than they'll recoup on Courtois, and unless Kepa turns out to be absolutely outstanding, it will be a downgrade too.
He's always seemed good to me, though he wasn't a guaranteed starter at Chelsea. Anyone know why that was? Presumably they'll be happy enough to get a big fee for someone near 30
There's no question that Mourinho is a far more brilliant manager than Hodgson over his career. The point of comparison is the Mourinho of today is creating such a toxic atmosphere and throwing everyone under the bus to protect himself (rather than the club/players) that it must be very hard as a Utd fan to feel any optimism or pleasure in the team. If I were a Utd fan I'd be just waiting for him to go at this point.
Didn't realise he'd worked with Klopp before. Must have been a personality clash as his playing style would suit a Klopp team - looked a class act at the WC. Glad Utd missed out on him last year.
