Apart from Paisley, Klopp is the only Liverpool manager to reach the final of all competitions he could have reached. Paisley-UEFA Cup, Champs Cup, Lge Cup, FA Cup. Never qualified for the CWC. Klopp- Europa Lge, Champs Cup, Lge Cup, FA Cup, World Club Championship. Never took part (and hopefully never will) in the Conference Lge. Rafa came closest but never reached the Europa Lge final.

I think that the team showed great resilience. Going behind to what was in all honestly a lucky deflection onto the post and in, so early in game could have seen us collapse. City were better but we got level twice and also had other chances. Very nervy in the first half, much more settled in the 2nd. I do feel that we need another midfield option to be added in the summer.

Good win. Benfica's biggest threat late on was their fans throwing projectiles.

I am worried that they will now sack Ole and sell Maguire and replace them both with Bruce as player/manager. That would improve them instantly.

Toughest game he has played in so far and he did OK. Still looks to do the right thing. He is going to be some player.

That's a surprise as he was involved in training earlier.

Started off very well with a couple of good turns and passes. Then lost the ball easily too often.

His brother Christian played in the Premier League...........here in Malta. Lasted about half a season. Last seen in the 4th or 5th tier of Italian football.

It will be an open game, they will attack us and cause problems but if we take our chances I cannot see anything but a win for us.
