How many more league goals has he got than Crouch and Kuyt? Can't be many (if any)?

We havent squeezed out results despite not playing that well as we should've this season. Excellent result

Alonso missing another game for us because he's f***ng go karting or whatever he's doing in Malaysia. Not commited enough..

Eto'o Want's To Play With Along With Stevie Apparently...

Sounds like he's on the verge of a transfer request to be honest -
We've gone from being underdogs in europe in most matches to one of the more feared teams. We're the most suited english side to european football I think and that's very much down to Rafa. But, we need to challenge for the title properly next season (not necesarilly win it, but be up there), there's no two ways about it. Whether we win the CL or not this year, 4 years without a title challenge past October and questions will be asked. I still have doubts over the way we approach some games in the league, particularly away from home. The way we played at PSV is perfect for going away from home in europe, it doesn't (and didn't) at Aston Villa for example and hasn't proven a succesful plan at Old Trafford, Highbury, Reebok and to a lesser extent at Stamford Bridge. We say it every year but I dont think we're that far away. IMO we do need a change in approach to certain games and need a couple of excellent attacking players but we're close. Definitley evolution not revolution.

The reason why the away goal is perceived to be so valuable is that you can still lose a game but qualify and in circumstances of score draws in both games, not win at all but still go through because you scored more away goals. United don't have to win on aggregate as a 1-0 win will take them through but obviously they have to win the 2nd leg in some form because they lost the first - which goes back to the original point that 1-2 is not better than 0-0.

We need one or two players (striker and/or winger) who can carry the ball at pace and commit defenders. We don't do that anywhere near enough.

United fans charging the barrier seems daft to me but why don't they just have two lines of police and either side of the fence if they dont think the fence will hold?? Another avoidable incident it seems

The tendon basically attaches your calf muscles to the heel so snapping it will make the back of your leg hurt anywhere from about half way down I think. Also happens commonly when jumping or just moving off and IIRC, Aurelio seemed to spring off from his right foot when he felt the injury (I think). Hopefully it's something else of course

let's let him put in a title challenge past october first, eh?

How many goals get scored outside the box anyway? To me their problem is that when they're not playing well they get too narrow and Wenger's attempts at using Rosicky and Hleb to replace Ljungberg and Pires aren't working, that and the midfield (bar Gilberto) is too young. On saturday Denilson, Fabregas and Diaby played in midfield with an average age of about 19. Against gerrard, Alonso and Mascherano they've got no chance.

Dont think anyone was anything special last night but it was a solid team performance. Never understood people saying Gerrard not looking arsed though. Days of him running round like a bulldozer are over and he's a completely different player. He's alot more subtle now and looks to release the ball a lot quicker. And it was a very strange game last night, heck, just look at how many times Carragher and Agger walked around doing nothing but passing to eachother, lookingaimless/half arsed before hoofing it forward.

Imagine players running half way across the pitch to get in the face of a referee or opposition player. Would never happen in england like.

Excellent result, did all we needed to in a very professional manner.

I dont get this - how can a side be so far off the pace in the league because they don't score enough goals from outside the area?? Their midfield just isn't right. They've got good players throughout but Hleb/Rosicky aren't Pires and Ljungberg and the trio that played on saturday are all very young and very inexperienced. I think they could do with someone more direct on the wing but who isn't going to wait 2-3 years before peaking.

You know we're close to silly season (the transfer window) when the words "war chest" are being used. I have no doubt Rafa will get a lot of money to buy the players he wants in the summer but I'd really like to know where the press plucked out the £40m figure and the targets we're looking to buy - other than wild speculation that has been talking about Villa, Eto'o etc. for months.

I'd like to see, but probably won't Reina Finnan Carra Agger Arbeloa/Riise Gerrard Xabi Mascherano Aurelio Bellamy Crouch
-
Absolutely perfect commentator's curse in that game, Tony Gale (?) talking about how Agbonlahor has had a poor game and isn't looking sharp, a second later he pokes home the equaliser. Brilliant
-
Unsure really - did they go from holding the ball up to putting in a cross due to a well worked plan or because there were boos? It looked like the latter to be honest and Aurelio (?) who was in space, seemed to get the ball by accident and wasn't expecting it.
-
Hleb seems a similar play to Vladi me but like the latter is wasted on the wing and doesn't produce the goods often enough Mind you, that performance from "The Beast" on saturday was laughable

Only place I can see mancs dropping points except stamford bridge are Pompey next week and everton. Chelsea need to win everything they play which is tough considering they have to travel to arsenal and blackburn. Mancs won't throw it away from here.

Our wingers always seem to get the ball too early, near the half way line and up against 2 defenders. Gonzalez, Pennant, Gerrard, Garcia, Kewell - happens with them all. Yesterday was a lot better and I think that had a lot to do with Alonso being allowed to play higher up the pitch

Was a fantastic save alright and at a key moment too. Dropped a couple of catches but didn't result in anything thankfully. Very pleased with Reina again this season, for all the mistakes he [apparently] makes every game I can't think of more than 4 goals he's been directly responsible for in his time with us (Ashton, O'Shea, Martins, Johnson) - any others I've missed off?
