  1. Yup Mancs 20 R.Madrid 18 Us 17 Bayern, Chelsea, Valencia 16 Milan only 13
  2. Essien is out of the first leg I think
  3. Gutted that Pennant didn't look up and square the ball to crouch late on as a tap in there wouldve put Crouch joint top scorer in the European cup - who'd have imagined eh? Still, did all we needed to do and hopefully bellamy is back quickly.
  4. Rafa's waves get funnier and funnier. He's shouting something to about 6 different players and then just claps his hands, points at the crowd for a sec and gets back to waving his arms everywhere. Class
  5. Possibility of Zenden tucking inside quite a bit and Bellamy and Pennant playing wide of crouch? Either way it's a solid team and one that should do the business. Also, anyone else find it weird that 2 years ago Sami was rested for the champions league in mind, now the old fart is the one coming in for giving others (Agger on saturday and Carra tonight) a rest? One of my favourite ever players in a red shirt and it's sad his time with us is coming to an end soon (another season, possibly two at a stretch?). Get yourself a cleansheet and a goal to boot Sami, a repeat of yer belter against Juve in 2005 will do. Come on reds
  6. I seem to remember us doing that to some decent players recently. Not entirely sure though. Some european randomers that no ones ever heard of by the name of Ronaldinho and Messi I think.
  7. Ah yes, "Le Gems"
  8. The only time United's wide men have seriously hurt is recently was Rafa's first game against them, losing 2-1. Ronaldo tore us apart that night. Since then, ok we pathetically crumbled at their place this season but their wide men (which is their biggest threat) have been nullified pretty well.
  9. He wasn't taking fulham anywhere this season except into the relegation zone and unless he was going to be given money in the summer, no where next season. I dont think it'll do him much harm long term to be tested elsewhere
  10. Richard Keys would go into w*** overdrive. Bloody hell could you imagine it..
  11. Wasn't it a case that we were not prepared to pay something around the region of £10m for him before he moves to the mancs? I think it's in Thommo's book that we were genuinely interested but didnt want to risk that sort of a fee on such a raw talent.
  12. For a club thats only won a measly 2 european cups beating a side 7-1 in the QF must rank up there. Roma were utter s**** tonight but there is a reason the mancs league goal difference alone is significantly higher than our goals scored and part of the reason we witnessed tonight. We battered and bruised Barca in the first half at anfield in the previous round but finished the game hanging on. United put this game to bed in 20 minutes. Roma were very sloppy but it was impressive. But you get nights where everything works, hopefully bayern or milan will put a stop to it in two weeks.
  13. Anyone know how Paul Anderson has been doing? Lots of talk about him last year but the hype seems to have calmed down this season.
  14. [Hopefully] another chance to better this
  15. Why was it a s*** night? We aint lost anything. We're still in the tournament and according to most bookies 3 hours ago we were favourites to win the damn thing. Just because the mancs and chelsea had good results doesnt mean we have everyting to fear. Just like we didnt turn into world beaters when we beat Barca at the nou camp. Cant wait for tommorow night really
  16. They got mugged by their own arrogance and inability to defend. They were truly clueless. Mancs have just scored and turning on the pressure yet Ronaldo, Rooney and Smith are somehow 3v3 against the roma defence. They missed their opportunity against 10 men last week and tonight just looked clueless
  17. Both teams deserved it. Roma were abysmal in defence but couldnt handle the pace that the manc c**** played at. Fair play. Hopefully Milan or Bayern sort them out
  18. Gotta admit that roma fan on sky a few hours ago showing off his t-shirt was well funny. Showed the front and back, milked it but then realised his mug was on tele and made a half arsed attempt to cover it and walk off. Anyone know what those yellow tshirts say?
  19. So the article is saying he's done well but has shown signs that he hasn't peaked yet and can/should get better. I'd agree with that
  20. MOTD becoming so biased they didnt even mention us tonight
  21. It was a decent game but nothing great. The game was summed up when Darren Ambrose (I think) put in a cross for Charlton with about 15 minutes to go and only Bent was in the box, surrounded by 4 Reading defenders. Contrast to several times Reading put the ball into the box looking for 3-5 of their players trying to score. Charlton were fairly lucky to get a point but Pardew must be gutted at how poor they were at times, especially 2nd half. They have to make all the home games count and they have a tough run in as it is (Everton, Spurs, Sheffield U, us and Blackburn).
  22. Didnt watch the game yesterday but he's had a really poor season this year IMO. Highlights have deffo been Charity Shield and Barca away but he was very hit and miss before his injury aswell. Still, he's young, 2nd season is always hard and all that. Hopefully he comes back a better player next year because he was fantastic last season.
  23. Yup, it was a blind back pass. Either look up to see where the keeper is or if you havent got time for that, knock it away to safety
  24. Typical scouse hating bias again. Just watch Hansen and Lawro, c**** both of them, somehow degrade our last 3 wins
  25. Blackburn and Fulham both led against them recently, they'll get out of it.
