He was awful before his injury too IMO. I can only think of the community shield and Barca games this season where he has played anywhere near the level he showed last year. While everyone else started s*** at the start of the season Momo got a lot of praise but to be honest all I saw was a headless chicken running around. Maybe people will disagree. Truth is, he had an excellent season last year and the balance we had with Kewell, Momo, Xabi and Stevie was excellent. This year Xabi, Gerrard both started slowly, left side was all over the place and Momo started poorly too and gone on from there. Added to the fact that he's still very young and had to contend with injury, I'm hoping this season will be forgotten as 2nd season syndrome and he gets back to some form against Chelsea (if he plays, which I think he will at least away from home) and next season. He's a limited and raw player in terms of what he can do but when he does it right he's a real asset to the squad. When he wins the ball and keeps it very simple with passing options around him, he's great, he can really bulldoze a team. I think he's maybe in the position Crouch was 12 months ago. Excellent first season but then there was a lot of skepticism about his ability to carry that on and add an extra bit of class to his game, which Crouch has done. People were then thinking Crouch would be eased out of the side by the class of Kuyt and Bellamy and would be a player used in specialist sitatuons, but that hasn't really happened. Momo has the chance to show what he's made of next year.
