Finnan? Class player. As anyone that's watched him for the last 5 years will testify to (and to be fair, most LFC fans are well wide to this). Two good feet, intelligent with ball, defensively sound. The only negative is that is he's not getting any younger. Here, scratch that last comment. Let's call a spade a spade: if he wasn't Irish, I'd be calling him dogs*** and rightly f*cking so. Crouchy is really, really good footballer. Awesome performance from him yesterday. Everything he did came off. I think we're a more dangerous side with him in the team. The only reason I can see him being sold is that we'll get good money for him and he might want to be the main man somewhere rather than being one of four (or five). I'd hate to see him go into semi-retirement (i.e. join Newcastle).

That makes sense. His beef seems to be about being undermined at Chelsea. For all their history, why would he go from the frying pan into the fire? I can see him in Italy sooner than at Madrid - under the promise of total control. Inter fit the bill more than AC. RM might promise him heaven, but surely he's not thick enough to see that ultimately they would be hollow promises? And I can see his style of ball go down real well with the Madrista. That said JM is so full of himself that he might fancy himself to be the main man there. I just don't see it, Packie.

I thought Hicks did a great job there. He's done his homework since the initial press conference. The success of this venture for him is gonna be tied to the success of the club. And I think he understands that he's dealing in much bigger stuff than baseball in the USA. Both their sons are gonna have a big part to play in this. I'd like to know a bit more about them, but I think we're in good hands. He certainly talks a good game.
