Trev is married to a former Irish shot-putting champion and is very much in love (I read a feature in one of the papers about them getting together a few years ago - touching stuff, there's someone for everyone, etc). And with the incomparably s*** Trevor Welch in the commentary box (TV3 could kill a 5-4 thriller), I now regret not getting more wine in to get me through the 2nd half. Nah, it's bizarre funny. I've been warming to him a bit since his Guardian articles, I have to admit. He really annoyed me for a long, long time (his performancess for us and his whole pseudo-intellectual schtik) but I don't think I can hate anyone who consistently makes me laugh.

I like Pongolle and I'd like to have him as an option in the current current squad. He's not gonna get near a regular place in the team at the moment, though, and he needs to be playing regularly for the sake of his own career, so I don't expect him back. I wish him all the best and will be forever thankful for his display against Olympiakos in the march towards number five.
