  2. That debut he had for Blackburn away at Palace (I think) marks him down as one of the best forwards i've ever seen. And don't forget that it was Kenny who signed him. Got frustrated at Newcastle though, I think, and believed in the hype too much so thinks he can get away with all the fouling. If we'd got him a couple of years ago when there was talk of him leaving we'd have got a cracking player for a year or two.
  3. Walsh? Nah. His only problem was that Kenny was still able to get about so he couldn't get in the team. As Bao said, any game we went behind or were drawing in the second half you'd hear everyone singing for Walshie to come on. In a way maybe Walsh brought the best out of Kenny in the last year or two. This young flash cockney kid with all his flicks and backheels and dribbles seemed to give Kenny something to compete with again and, of course, he wiped the floor with him. Ziiiiiiiiiiico!
  4. Just imagine him in blue shirt though. He's playing as if he knows how jammy he was to avoid ending up playing for the other shower.
  5. Great stuff. Funny to think now how he was the 'weak link' at full back cos he couldnt pass a ball. And then when he switched to centre back against Arsenal and was ripped to shreds by Henry. Good interview that.
  6. Another reason why it won't happen.
  7. "We're better than Villa cos - we've won it two times."
  8. Where you singing "build a bonfire' while you typed that?
  9. Oh mancy mancy mancy mancy mancy mancytonians
  10. Nothing surprises me with them anymore, unfortunately. A long time mate who is a "better blue la" went off on one after a few whiskeys the other week and spewed every nasty arlarse bit of bile to do with Shields, Heysel and even Hillsborough (despite also claiming that an uncle and a mate had died that day) out in one half hour session. Must have been carrying all that round for years but this was the first time I'd heard it from this one. I'd only count one blue I know now as being old school, ie you could travel to a match with him there and back and not get into a load of bitter sh*te - banter yes, but bullsh*t no. We talked a few months ago about whether a big occasion like an all Mersey Cup Final might turn things around - we both remember travelling down on the train for the finals in the eighties and what a buzz it was all bevvying round Covent Garden together and all that gear - and take us back to where we used to be but I'm not sure the damage can be fixed between us and the infidels anymore.
  11. If Garcia "only did it once" then how come they had twelvety men booked? Luis's english language skills must be fantastic.

  13. "It's up to the authorities to do something. Ask any British player. It's the last thing you want to see, players running up to the ref and shouting for someone to get a yellow or red card. García only did it once, but their foreign players speak good English. It's not as if they don't understand what they're doing. It's not a man thing." stubbsy la Man thing?
  14. I'd love to have a second team over here in the UAE and have watched a couple of games on the box in the last couple of weeks including a boss 3-3 all draw that went to a penalty shoot-out last night, the 'whites' won 4-2. Only problem is I haven't got a scooby what the commentators are on about so don't know the names of the teams so I just choose the side with a red shirt and support them. Where is Titi Camara, didn't he got to Qatar? I could support his side, or go glory hunting and follow Al-Ittihad cos I've heard of them, I dunno. I guess "football is the winner" will have to do me for now.
  15. Saw that. Imposed himself well, er, keeping the ball in the corner and winning a few throw ins. Anyway, where was Vladi or is that a daft question? Hels'll know...?
  16. The wages he got off Man City didn't have much effect on him either. Nob'ed.
  17. Touch for that wyno! Get in.
  18. Whichever player he meant, he wants to wait til they are on Spurs payroll before going off on one about what position he should have been bought for, innit?
  19. Never mind our subs, what about theirs? Moyes was shown up like a complete divvy when he got all three ready to come on, they score from a corner then he tells em all to sit down again. Just when they might have had an impact after we concede as well. What an amateur. Even the arabs in the pub were laughing at that. When they finally do get on after making no more headway, one gets sent off, one goes looking to get booked as soon as poss and the other one...who was the other one again? Oh yeah, big name signing Simon Davies. Dunno where he went. Bottler!
  20. This the same fella who was saying Agger is nowhere near being a centre back, a possible right back or right midfielder but if Rafa thinks he has bought a defender he is off his head, or something along those lines? They're out of their depth taking Rafa on.
