  13. Er...whats something like that doing on the Manchester Evening News website, eighteen months on? Has it turned into 'in the know' or something? Generates hits though I suppose.

  20. Was in a bar with a number of Mackems watching that, all in their stripey tops n all. They should have all been wearing t-shirts saying "why couldn't we do this all season?", it would have saved them all taking turns to say it every time a pass found its man. Poor buggers. They were giving it a right go in the first half and their supporters were screaming at every shot, no matter how many miles high or wide it went. Then Chopra came on. Oh dear. One of the worst derby defeats ever seen, there were only about 200 Sunderland fans left in the ground at the final whistle.
  21. Not sang anything like that for twenty years.
  22. Yet again, the Celts how their class. Hats off to them.
  23. He is spot on. Teams need fat-arsed lazy forwards trying to run off a night of champagne guzzling in Stringfellows who try the odd divvy flick and trick for the cameras if they want to succeed like the magnificent Nicholas-inspired arsenal side of the mid-eighties - not ball winning, tidy passers of the ball like Makelele who read the game like he back of their hand. How come he is not a manager, if not of a top flight club then maybe a side in the lower leagues in Scotland, I'll never know.
  24. I seem to recall another recent European game where a side dominated for the first period and yet the other side managed to get a million people on the streets celebrating the next day. Sure they were under pressure and we failed to take chances but they rode their luck and then strolled to a historic victory (for them). Maybe its just cos I was in the Anny Road right next to them and could see what it meant to them as they began to believe they had a chance. They were no Valencia like but still...
  25. I dunno, some test of nerve for them that was - nobody game them a chance and they made it look quite comfortable in the end and look how close they ran Barca in the next round.
