Exactly – he invited me onto his show a couple of years ago - the last time he did this. I ended up declining because he only wants the attention.

I’ve had several run ins with him in the past over previous comments. He is totally behind his viewpoint about Liverpool when it comes to using it for promoting his own radio show and his own profile. From memory someone else got into an email exchange with him about Liverpool and then when public with what he’d said – after his so called apology. His comments were even more vile and disgusting in email than on air. There is nothing he’d like more than an on air debate about it and for Loads of Liverpool fans to listen in – because than would boost his numbers. I’ve talked to him about his views and one to one he’s a fairly reasonable person. However in public he’ll carry on regardless and has no intention of changing. He refused to do a discussion on his TV show about Hillsborough – he only wanted it on the radio as that’s the one he owns the rights to. My personal opinion – he’s a scumbag and a lowlife who like to be controversial. I’ve got no problem with that and I haven’t watched or listened to a show that he’s been on in over 2 years and I see no reason to change that. I pointed him in the direction of several books that he could read and educate himself about Hillsborough – clearly he didn’t bother as he has no interest in doing so. I had the permission of the HJC to represent them on his show about Hillsborough but after many weeks I declined to go on his show as he clearly would be able to control the conversation and would be expanding the interview beyond Hillsborough and I didn’t feel that I could adequately engage him about Heysel etc. Contacting him will do no good. Contacting the sponsors and co-hosts and employers may do. Good luck – I’ll have nothing to do with him. Softy – check your pm’s… you might just find someones cell phone number (as at a couple of years ago) if you want to try that route.

during the game I thought I heard a trumpet trying to get YNWA started at about 82 minutes.. then at the end the stadium speakers kicked in with YNWA - was this for us or do they normally play it?

looked me like he already decided that there was going to be no touch on it and he was gettign ready to run out and get the ball back upfield. once there was a touch he was totally wrong footed... poor judgement by him as his first priority has to be to keep the ball out..
