No one said we were. The lad needs to play actual football, though. EDIT: and there's the factor that we don't control midfield, Coutinho is more direct than Alberto. Instead of getting caught up in a physical battle and losing the ball like a bag of t***, we could try and actually keep it and strangle the game.

Allen should start. As should Sakho. I'd drop Sterling and I'd look to give Alberto the 60 instead of the 30 when the game is mad, also. EDIT: I'd also look to give Aspas 30 as well and give Suarez a rest.

Rossiter is nowhere near ready. Same with Sinclair when he was played. It's all a bit mad, really. EDIT: By that I mean the weird younger signings, the way some players have just not even had a look in even when squad is thin.

Can put f***ing Nesta and Cannavaro there, if we can play like a bunch of strangers trying to cover the whole pitch then it won't make a difference. We've had question marks about the defence for years, with different defenders coming in and out. Consistent thing is the porous midfield.

Sober morning after thoughts: Moses change was mad, in the context of later making the Sturridge change, but made the game very fun. When Jon Flanagan is your most sensible player, you've done something wrong. It was absolutely mad but brilliant fun. EDIT: Oh, and a few crosses withstanding, Gerrard was our worst player.

Not necessarily but ho hum. Cherrington deserves a lot of credit and they performed a lot better than everyone anticipated. They turned everything inside out in a 12 month period and came out much better.

Nope. John Farrell played a big role in it all. Reinvigorated Lester and Lackey, as he had worked there before, while picking up Mike Napoli and Shane Victorino were brilliant moves. Made shrewd moves, not big ones.
