  1. His two best players are both ultra-direct forwards. Just build around them and score all the goals. That's why he puts Gerrard so deep. That's why he wants two central midfielders ahead who will press and win the ball back high. I'd be stunned to see a purely defensive midfielder at any point and wouldn't be surprised to see Lucas shipped out or, at least, never play a hugely prominent role (even if he comes back properly).
  2. No. Yeah, but Everton were beleaguered and we were able to physically bully them. West Brom will press and I'd rather have an actual central midfielder alongside Henderson. He was brilliant on Tuesday, don't get me wrong. I just think that it doesn't mean he's suddenly that player.
  3. Echo saying we've made a formal bid of "around £16m".
  4. The adulation of most grown men isn't enough? You have to have Gutmann, don't you? It's what you can't have that drives you.
  5. If Allen is fit, I'd bring him in. Probably for Coutinho. It'd be very harsh, though. I am, however, a very harsh man.
  6. Aye. Especially since Suarez kept b******ing Cissokho. Not that I blame him.
  7. Doesn't Rodgers have a thing for Richards? Obviously a blue but wouldn't have a problem with us showing interest in Rodwell at the right price, too. Imagine he'll just go back there, though.
  8. Salah was a smokescreen. Get more Commies in.
  9. Plus Martinez just didn't react. He just shifted Miralles around and hoped something would happen. They defended like a bag of children, too. I would be reluctant to see this week in, week out. Unless we win 4-0 against Everton every time.
  10. Still laughing about this even now.
  11. Weird that this guy was one of the premier attacking full backs in Europe not so long ago and now is just solid defensively but looks like he's never seen a ball before in his life.
  12. Sterling Coutinho Skrtel Not one bad performance for me but thought those three made a huge difference.
  13. Hugely. Massive call to basically play Coutinho as a central midfielder and to press aggressively with him, Henderson and Sterling. Could have hugely backfired but he got it just right. Matched up with Everton in midfield, in numbers, and didn't let them build or settle. Was really impressive. Also first time we've managed to properly do it with Gerrard in the team and for pretty much the whole match. Fair play.
  14. No way it's that 4-4-2 s****. No way. Will be Coutinho or Suarez dropping in.
  15. I wish we signed more central defenders.
  16. I get it. You should see my Borini posters. I'd turn for Gibbo.
  17. I wish I loved anyone as much as Rob loves Kenny.
  18. Why do Monaco want rid? Thought he was supposed to be dead good?
  19. What qualifies as competitive? We were top 4 weeks ago. Anfield was always going to be difficult while the Comolli farce was a mess but at least they rectified it quickly. They need to take the next step now, inasmuch as letting the manager make moves without hamstringing him (otherwise increasing revenue is for nowt). I can understand being reticent after Comolli and Kenny, though. FWIW, Heaton says that Henry isn't exactly impressed with the transfer committee either.
  20. On the grand scale of ownership, these guys are the in the middle. Possibly upper middle. No problem with that.
  21. I'm FURIOUS we've not been linked with Diego Capel yet. Or Huntelaar.
  22. f***ing hate Arsenal.
  23. This content is not viewable to guests.
  24. We have bodies up front and goals. We have four midfielders. Lucas and Allen are injured while Henderson will eventually need a break. That leaves Gerrard. I'm not saying to buy defensive midfielders, I don't think we will. But we are desperately light there.
  25. Could make the case that we have played with two deeper central midfielders quite often and say you have four lads who can do that and then Coutinho/Suarez at head of midfield. It'd be a s*** argument, though. Play all the forwards, I say. Just leave Flanno on his own in our half. All we need.
