  1. Flanagan defo doesn't count as a footballer.
  2. Read a few La Liga aficionados who were surprised Sevilla were willing to part with him because he was so highly rated. Him and Campana were meant to be part of a good generation for them but they've given up on all of them. Then again, most people who follow Serie A always talk about how highly rated Borini still is.
  3. Doing that made me realise how few midfielders we have.
  4. Mignolet Johnson Toure Agger/Sakho Enrique Gerrard Lucas Henderson Suarez Coutinho Sturridge Jones, Agger/Sakho, Cissokho, Allen, Alberto, Moses, Aspas. I like this. Then you have Kelly, Wisdom, Ibe and Sterling to fill out the squad.
  5. Jesus Christ.
  6. He was frustrated, as we are now.
  7. Lamela went for Baldini. Soldado we were in for but Spurs had more money this Summer.
  8. From where I'm sat I could throw fruit at your office. Be warned.
  9. s****/ale, young, injured.
  10. Was defo being 100% serious, you Italian scoundrel.
  11. It isn't much and we are alright in now but he's a kid who's for the future and we have Coates, Skrtel and Agger as question marks while Kelly and Wisdom haven't played a game as a centre back in a back four for us. Spent on who? This is a player who we could get today and we've identified as obviously having a lot of potential, why is getting him expendable for some lad that we have in our minds but on paper doesn't seem to exist.
  12. But those above us also play those teams. If they're better then they will get more points through that as well. I don't think I get what you're on about here, to be totally honest.
  13. THIS IS A TRANSFER THREAD MASQUERADING AS A REAL THREAD.
  14. Imagine if we'd given him up (AND ACTUAL MONEY) for Dempsey. Christ. Fulham could do with a lad who'd do all their running, too.
  15. What bigger fish we have. Attacking players are more expensive and we got three centre backs, which minimises the risk. I was talking about the type of deal, not the player, anyway: to get a genuine difference maker at the top level you either have to pay top whack or take a chance (or sometimes both). With defenders it's different but there's still plenty of chance that Sakho and Ilori both flop, yes, but again it's the type of deal. Ilori wasn't much and Sakho is a cut price for what he can be. Depends on what you consider is enough. I think we're competitive this season from this window and with a bit of luck we can get top 4 but it's a strange time so we've no idea what is necessary to crack top 4.
  16. No one is a bigger danger to the fabric of The Liverpool Way and general fandom than you, Molb. s*** does happen, though, Dortmund, Chelsea and Atletico being better than us, for instance. I don't know what player it is people think we've missed out on. We were never competing with any of those, so money isn't the issue. Winning more games, generally. If this player comes in at the expense of Henderson then I'm definitely out. One is suspended, one is injured, one is a kid then you need a squad. There aren't many Suarez's available at the price we got for him, and you have to take the bad with him and also realise that maybe 50% time that player flops. It means that people are acting like we didn't make any moves. Like we haven't improved. We got one of the best young centre backs in Europe and another guy who we've identified as having similar potential. We came out ahead.
  17. There is this (tenuous links to Eriksen, Yarmolenko and Mata aside). Seems like we thought we had Mkhitaryan and missed out on what could have been other options. Hope is that we've got designs on Yarmolenko or Konopolyanka (sp?) in January/next Summer.
  18. As has been mentioned on here, think it's a target that is already attainable - with what we already have - and it's possible Rodgers already knows that. Is the implication in all this that Rodgers has been failed somehow? If the targets aren't there, they aren't there. I'm not of the mind that paying more for less now is what we should do when we've bigger fish to fry, really. We spent £25m or so on the last day, it's not like we just didn't get anyone. It's not like we've left a gaping void upfront and it's not like we completely neglected it, s*** just happens.
  19. Why is everyone running on the assumption it has to be Aspas and Alberto or a big name attacking signing? We still moved for Mkhitaryan, Willian and Diego Costa, didn't we? Although I'm pretty bored of making this point again and again. I'm glad we didn't just throw money at the problem, we tried that and it didn't exactly work out. We've already got Sturridge, Coutinho and Suarez, anyway. We needed to sure up other areas more desperately. EDIT: And that's before you get into the made Hal 9000 stuff DH is on about. Especially since if we were going to go by numbers and valuations we would have signed Eriksen, who by all accounts is the analysts loverboy but not liked by traditionalists.
  20. I think Aquilani was a good signing. Xabi Alonso was s**** until he got the boot put into him, too.
  21. Isn't it? Regardless of what ever the plan was or could have been, it was just a dreadful piece of business.
  22. So....what has the lad done wrong then?
  23. Suarez and a full season of Sturridge and Coutinho with Aspas and Moses AND Ibe and Sterling a bit further along. Good stuff.
  24. Absolute b******s.
  25. It isn't at all. If you can't see it then you don't want to see it.
